University of California Transfer Students Fall 2007 OFFICIAL THREAD!!!

i just got an email from UCSD's chancellor about black history month. I assume everyone got it, but it's addressed to current students and faculty, so it seems strange that they'd send something like that out to all applicants. hmm...kinda random

Yep I am getting those emails too

yea i got that email too.

O.o

Not me....

Maybe it got put into your spam folder...anyways it really has nothing to do with admissions so I wouldnt worry about it.

But it's very hard not to worry about it.
Ever since I submitted my application, all I got was a mail telling me that each school have received my application.

Then on January, I got an email from Berkeley asking me to update the info and from UCI suggesting me to apply for some Transfer Research crap, but none from UCLA and UCSD, not even those random emails they send out to you guys. Even from USC. NONE.

So I'm just worried incase I didn't do everything I was supposed to do.. =/

hmm..well I havent received anything from UCLA but you should have received a letter in the mail from UCSD confirming your application.

i have been getting the email from UCSD, in there it says like "all applicants/students" so i wouldnt worry about it cuz its not like they are selecting certain individuals.

but he/she is an applicant so he/she should be receiving it

maybe his/her email account is just slow lol or maybe its filtered ;)

Well i just went through all my mails (including spam mails and trash folder) but nothing from San Diego...

Did you get the letter in the mail from SD?

I'm sure it's nothing to worry about. But it is really strange that some of us have gotten all the emails and letters about scholarships and finan aid, while others haven't. Probably just a glitch is my guess...

stop tripping dhl..

you'll be fine.

I’ve never herd a story of a school losing an application, I don't think it will start with any of us. Once you update just sit back and relax.

Does anyone know the rankings within UCs? I know that top 2 are UCB and UCLA. Any info there?

My meager observations/opinions:

Tier 1: UBC/UCLA/UCSD

Tier 2: UCI/UCD/UCSB

Tier 3: UCSC/UCR/UCM

Hope I covered them all? The tier 2/3 are in no order, and the tier 1 there isn't much of a difference "rankings" wise between them. However one must understand that certain schools are better at certain programs than others (UCSD as a major science school comes to mind, or UCD Ag program)

Those e-mails about Berkeley Alumni scholarships are random. They sent me one for the Achievement scholarship, but the problem is, to apply for one, you have to be in a College Outreach program. I haven't, so I can't apply.

On another note, I'm sure everyone got the thing from Berkeley reminding us to fill out our FAFSA?

well, I got into ucr, now i wait for ucla and uci.

Tier 2: UCI/UCD/UCSB

Tier 3: UCSC/UCR/UCM

Well, I've always thought UCSD was in its own league... it doesn't quite match up to the level of Berkeley and UCLA in terms of prestige and name value, but it's surely above the rest... So I would rank it:

Tier 1: Berkeley, UCLA
2: UCSD
Tier 3: UCSB, UCI, UCD
Tier 4: UCSC, UCR, UCM

Just my opinion though...
