brown, how did u get into ucr, i thought decisions are in march...

it goes something like:

berkeley
ucla
ucsd
uci
ucsb
ucd
ucsc
ucr
ucm

I agree w/ Lax...the UC ranking depends on what your majoring in...for example, for Engineering- UCB, sociology- UCB, UC Santa Cruz...UCD has one of the best veternarian schools in the country...so it all depends on what you are going for...
on a side note, is there any socilogy majors out there besides myself? I have a question for you.

im a sociology major

great...did you apply for UCB? If so, were you able to fulfill all of the pre-reqs? I was only able to complete 2 of the 3 because one of the pre-req did not have a comparable articulation class at my cc and I'm worried about that. Did your cc offer all of the needed pre-req classes?

i didnt complete all of my pre-reqs, i have to complete stats this spring :( I only have 1 out of the 3 done, cuz my college doesnt have one of the classes... which i heard doesnt count against me.

lol okay does anyone else find it a little strange that UCSD's Chancellor just sent us emails reminding students to fill out the library survey? haha random...

it says to all students, that also means applicants i guess. Kinda like when UCLA got their social securities stolen, applicants were also included in that.

mojo,
was it the soc 5 "evaluation of evidence?" That was the one that was not offered at my cc...so after the spring you'll have 2 out of 3...I think we will be ok

yeah, its the evaluation of evidence. By the end of spring, it will be 2/3 done

mojo, i got this thing in the mail saying that ucr does their admissions one month before all other uc's so they posted their admissions last night.

With the enormous amount of applicants to UCLA, the Cal vs. UCLA question isn't so clear anymore, since selectivity in LA has shot up. It used to be that most people who got into Cal also got into LA, but now it seems that people only get into one of the two schools in fairly indistinguishable rates. Nationally and internationally however, I think Berkeley is still more highly regarded than UCLA.

^Where are you getting this info from? UCLA has ALWAYS been selective since the late 90's.

he/she's talking about in relation to cal

I believe it's still harder to get into Cal. Acceptance rate means nothing unless you take into account other factors such as average statistics. UCLA gets an enormous number of applicants, and I would bet there's a lot of less qualified people trying to get into UCLA compared to Cal.

i agree with davis because there are a lot of students with like a 3.0 hoping that ucla will accept them and take into consideration the essay portion. While Cal probably has the 3.5 students hoping to get in.

UCLA is easier, overall...

approximately when do u send transcripts to the uc's?
also, when does the tap certification get sent to ucla?
i think i really need some dates, because i'm taking lots of courses this semestre and might forget to these important things.

july 15 i think

merced is the hardest
