University of Delaware Class of 2022

My son recieved a email Friday about sending his mid year transcripts but nothing about optional essay. He filled out a form to request his transcripts to be sent just yesterday. I’m praying by the end of this week for some decision. My son had all the materiels needed in by Dec 1. January 15th he recieved a update that his application was going for a 2nd review and they needed till March 15. It looks like the application process is moving now since he also recieved that email about mid year transcripts. Fingers crossed. Good luck to all that are in the same boat.

@tm72399 and @chestnut804 I am in the same boat. Applied on December 1st. Received an e-mail asking for more grades essay etc…and then last week asking for mid-year transcripts to make final decision. My mid-year grades are released from my high school on Friday so I’ll send them right away. This wait is killing me.

Hi all,

I applied on 11/29/17 and still haven’t heard back yet. I even emailed admissions but haven’t gotten a response yet. I tried contacting my regional counselor but I can’t find his email. I haven’t had any contact with them. They did not request for any additional documents either. My major is still there. I’m so confused what to do???

Does anyone have any info on the world scholars program? My daughter was invited to interview and aside from reading about it on the website we don’t know much. Any info would be helpful. Thanks so much and good luck to all those waiting!

@nammyohorengekyo Did you get an email stating your application was complete? I’m assuming you did if you are able to log onto the portal. They say the window is 8-12 weeks after that. For us, it took 11 weeks to hear back.

DD is at week 12 with no request for additional information. She emailed her counselor who said she should hear back end of January. Hopefully in this Friday’s wave…

@jlg0143 I recommend directly contacting your local admissions representative they can give you a little bit better insight into what happens to be taking so long. They can also help to push along your application and if needed link your first semester grades onto your application if you would like. I had some similar issues and contacted both of my reps and they were both very helpful and I believe they helped to speed along the process! Good Luck and let me know if you have any other questions.

@nammyohorengekyo I recommend reaching out to your regional admissions representative or calling the admissions office directly.

@abbyrubycookie and @chestnut804 on the same boat, I will be sending my grades in today. I called last week, and I was told that the sooner grades are sent in, the sooner you receive a decision. Goodluck!

I just spoke with admissions. They said my application is definitely under review and that I will hear back by March 9th. My app became complete on 12/06, so it is discouraging to hear that it still could be an additional month or two.

When people say their application is “complete” or “under review” what exactly does that mean? My daughter submitted everything about 10/20. On 10/25 (exactly 14 weeks ago!) she got an email with instructions to set up her portal. That was the last email she received from them. The portal says “received” under all items and has never changed. When people say they got an email saying “your application is complete and ready for review” is that different? The original email just said thank you for applying and it may take up to 12 weeks to review, please check your portal to monitor progress. Emails to admissions have gone unanswered, a phone call confirmed everything was received and I emailed her HS guidance counselor monday morning to see if she had any insight. Haven’t heard back from her either. Apparently some kids from her school have heard and some haven’t, although it doesn’t seem to have any pattern (major, scores, etc). It seems completely random. How many times is too often to call? I really feel as though her application is somehow lost or overlooked, etc. If it is a rejection, then I wish they would just let her know so she can move on.

My D submitted all paperwork 11/16/17. Received “your app is now complete and ready to review” email on 1/22/18 which stated may receive a decision or ask for additional info within 8-12 weeks. Very long process.

@pm0019 was that email on 1/22/18 in addition to an initial email with portal information? My daughter’s one and only email just thanked her for applying and gave her a link to the portal and told her to check that for information. I’m curious how many emails others got.

@jlg0143 This is the second email my son received after the initial receipt of application email:

I am pleased to inform you that your University of Delaware application is now complete and ready for review. The Admissions Committee will take careful consideration of all your credentials before releasing a decision. Within 8 to 12 weeks, you may receive a decision, or we may request additional information such as mid-year grades.

Don’t forget to check your My Blue Hen Home for application updates. If you have not done so already, log into the portal today using your username and pin to receive updated information from the Admissions Office, monitor the progress of your application, sign up for special events, and update us on any changes (such as a new e-mail or home address).

Whenever questions arise, please contact us (weekdays, 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. EST), by phone at (302) 831-8123, or e-mail at admissions@udel.edu.

@rutgers8081 Thank you. That is helpful. My D only received that initial email 14 weeks ago. It is obvious that somehow her app has been overlooked and beyond frustrated that we can’t get an answer from anyone.

@jlg0143, interactive map shows each state/region admission counselor. http://www.udel.edu/apply/undergraduate-admissions/meet-your-counselor/ Best of luck!

Tonight I received an email

"On behalf of the Admissions Committee, thank you for your interest in the Class of 2022 at the University of Delaware. Due to the volume of highly qualified applicants and the competitive nature of the major you have selected, we have not yet finalized our decision with regard to your candidacy.
To help us with our decision, we are requesting an updated high school transcript that includes your most recent grades (through the midpoint of the year).
We hope to inform you of a decision by March 15. Be assured that we recognize you are an accomplished student and we encourage you to continue to strive academically.

Has anyone else got this?? Hopefully a good sign.

I got the same email tonight…hoping its a good thing. Cards are still on the table.

@hockeybuff17 My son received a status update in his portal last night with the exact same wording but did not receive an email.

Hello! I just logged onto my UD portal and noticed that my major was no longer there, what does this typically mean?
