University of Delaware Class of 2022

Correction to my post: it is listed as undeclared not undecided. What does this mean?

@chestnut804 my major is finance

I applied to the nursing program but I got an acceptance that says my major is undeclared. Does anyone know if this means I didn’t get into the program or if I have to wait a few more weeks?

Something similar happened to a colleague’s daughter. She applied to nursing and her acceptance was for biological sciences. I’ll ask if they called & found out what happened. I think it might be that there weren’t enough spots in nursing but they still wanted to admit her.

@maggiebaron My daughter applied Nursing, and when she did her application they asked for a second choice so she she put Biology. She was accepted for Biology. I work for a school district and we had a small college fair and I was speaking to the OOS admissions counselor and they said to have her email and they would reevaluate. We they responded and said no as Nursing was full, and maybe she would like to get her degree somewhere else or in Bio then do their accelerated 2 year program. She was extremely disappointed as she is friendly with a senior from her high school that was accepted for Nursing, and “HIS” SAT’s are lower, and so is “HIS” coursework. Oh well that just tells us Delaware was not in the cards.

Anyone know the latest they should submit their deposit? I was accepted to nursing in November and I’m just weighing my options right now. I plan on deciding within two weeks but I want to make sure it’s not too late.

Did anyone else’s acceptance letter say “Please be aware that your application to the Honors Program is still under review, and a final decision will be made by late March.”

@NursingMan Yesterday at Decision Day they said that May 1, 2018, is the deadline to submit your deposit and reserve your spot.

Our update is that today my son was waitlisted. When he logged in to the portal today he had a new post that said “Status Update - an update to your application was last posted February 26, 2018” with a link to “View Update”

@CollegeMomnPop Was your son asked to send in his mid-year grades before this waitlist update?

@abbyrubycookie - he was not asked to submit mid-year grades

My son was asked for mid term grades 1-31-2018. Everyone I saw that submitted mid term grades got accepted. I would assume if the grades are good you’ll be admitted. Just basis this off what I’m seeing on the thread. Do you guys agree?

My son sent his mid-year grades 2-9 . and was admitted on 2-23 undeclared . That is not what he wants to go in as.His major is statistics and I’m assuming the class size is full and he did not have any alternate choice put down so they automatically put him as undeclared. He has sent admissions a request back for his major on 2-24. He is waiting to see if they reevaluate his request for his major. if he hears any update I’ll post a comment to let others in a similiar situation know.

My sons guidance counselor submitted mid year grades 2 weeks ago. Today when he checked on his phone it said decision day call admissions then when he checked at home it wasn’t there anymore and nothing changed. Did this happen to anybody else?

@CollegeMomnPop was this the first response you got from Delaware? Seems like a lot of people are being asked for mid year grades.

@Mcjc626 My guess is, he went to My Blue Hen Home under the admitted students page and it kicked him that message. I think it happened to someone else on this board.

Applied 1/15 and was accepted 2/24!

My daughter applied for civil engineering, but was accepted as undeclared. Very disappointed…she really loved it bt does have several other choices and waiting on UConn any day. Wonder if its worth it as others have mentioned to have her email and reconsider? She was never asked for mid year grades.

@TeacherMom72 i also applied civil engineering but was asked for mid-year grades and have yet to hear anything. When did she apply and hear?

I believe she applied in December and heard back in Feb, but as undeclared :frowning:
