University of Florida 2025 — Regular Decision

That was my next question. I thought I had already asked it. It’s a great one and would also solve our issue

@Melissa96 is it possible to get into honors if not admitted at this time? Meaning as we get closer to starting in the fall can we appeal to see if honors is an option!

Thanks

My daughter was accepted into Honors.
OOS NMF IB diploma 4.0 UW
36 ACT

I don’t think so but that is an advising question so it would be something to talk to an advisor. The college contacts are here APPLY CONTACTS - University of Florida

curious , does anyone know the UF acceptance rate this year for class of 2025?

I think @Melissa96 said the data would be out in a few weeks

So just to reply about the UF online classes for Engineers…my son got accepted 2 years ago. The only online classes he has had have been during COVID. This semester he is in class with the exception of 1 class, he has 5 classes total. He is an Electrical Engineering Major, in his Sophomore year taking 4000 level courses because he came in from High school with like 40 credits already. Most of his friends are also engineering majors, aeronautical, mechanical, electrical and they also have all their classes in person. Again, with the exception of last semester due to COVID. Dont know if that will help in your decision, but I though I would put that out there.

HI Melissa! Does everyone who indicated UF as their NMF college of choice get sponsored by Uf (and thus get benaquisto) or is it possible that UF will turn it down? Thx!

Thank you for the info! BTW- course catalogs do not indicate whether or not a particular class was online. (I checked.)

Seems like a lot of OOS admits atleast on this thread. I am curious to see the data on instate OOS. also seems the threshold on sat/act @Melissa96 thanks for answering all the qs kindof kept the thread sane n these crazy times. Is there a designated % UF admits for OOS? and do they get scholarships or are they paying sticker$

The money comes from the state so we will not turn it down so long as we are the first choice on-time.

Ugh accepted to PaCe
In State
4.25W GPA (UF Recalculated)
32 ACT
Lots of volunteer and leadership extracurriculars

Just annoying that so many people from my high school with lower stats got accepted into fall or summer.

PaCe sucks :frowning: who wants another 2 years of online after doing half of my junior year and my full senior year online

Be aware there is a bill in the Florida Senate that, if passed, will discontinue the OOS Benacquisto after this fall’s incoming class. It also deletes the “full COA” amount from the statute and makes it appear that the amount of the scholarship could vary from year to year, according to what is passed in the annual budget. The OOS waiver would remain intact under this bill.

This has not passed. However, it would be prudent to keep an eye on how things shake out on this issue.

If the new bill passes, will the OOS students in class 2025 be stripped of the scholarship from 2022?

Same with my daughter. She had a 4.7 hpa, 1350 SAT, 2 sports, captain, SGA officer, AICE diploma, AICE scholar, AP courses also. Double legacy on top of that. Needless to say she is devastated! Congrats to all, but it seems like so many students that got in are OOS. Very peculiar. I would think that IS would take precedents over OOS.

There is also a Bill that will only pay for “worthy” majors that will likely result in immediate employment. They have not indicated what those majors are. The colleges would have to give lists and they would have to be approved by the Bd of Gov and Bd of Educ. So if you are an art, philosophy or sociology major (ones mentioned), the bill’s sponsor considers those worthless and you would not get full Bright Futures. If passed it would go into effect fall of 2022 and there is no indication whether it would be retroactive to the class of 2025. There’s a petition on change.org to voice disagreement and anyone who doesn’t want their student’s major decided for them should check it out

Will someone explain the dorm situation. Can a regular UF student live with a Pace student or an innovation student?

I’m not sure what you are asking - the reference to the class of 2022 confuses me. But, The bill, as it is currently written says the state will stop offering the Benacquisto after this year’s class, the class of 2021. The scholars from previous years will continue to receive the OOS waiver, but maybe not full COA, depending on budget decisions each year.

This has not passed, but something to stay alert for.

It’s the same bill.
