University of Florida- Acceptance revocation

Hello, I just found out I was accepted into the University of Florid. I am currently taking AP Stats and honestly I don’t think I will pass and if I do it will be a D. Do you think my admission would be revoked because I failed one class? I don’t think I would really have to worry about it if I got a D, but I have no idea what would happen if I got a F? I’m Out-of-State, which is the main reason I got accepted (in my opinion), and I make all A’s and B’s and take many AP and Honor classes. Also do you know anyone who had their admission revoked from UF because a F?

Thanks

Why don’t you meet with your Statistics instructor now to ascertain if he can provide additional work/help or recommend a student tutor? At a minimum, he or she will know you’re really trying, which might prove quite helpful in the future. The fact is, a D is likely trouble and an F is almost certainly serious trouble.

Depends, one D/F doesn’t cause you to be rescinded at a large state flagship. If you had straight C/D/Fs then that’s real trouble… Call your regional AO to address the situation if you need closure.

It can, depending on the flagship. The OP should carefully read any admission conditions that come with the admission offer to determine what conditions there are for 12th grade academic performance.

Unfortunately, many schools vaguely say something like “we expect you to maintain your academic performance in 12th grade”. In this case, you would need to specifically ask the school if getting a D or F in one of your courses will cause your admission to be rescinded.

I heard from a UF tour guide than if your hpa/gpa drops by .3 than you’ll probably get rescinded. I doubt one F will do this, but go to your teacher. And this information is just stuff the guide heard on the grapevine so don’t mine me too much.

It doesn’t matter what we think, it matters what the good folks in admission at UF think. It would be a smart idea to ask them directly instead of soliciting random opinions. Furthermore, assuming this is where you want to enroll, if you work with admissions now and it turns out failing a class is a big deal to them, you may be able to work out a way to make it up by taking it or some other class in summer school. If you wait until they see your final transcript in August it will be too late to do anything.

I doubt it unless most of your classes you bombed. Call them, don’t use your name and ask. My D had a lot of questions I see on here and I called for her from my work cell (she was paranoid) and asked loads of questions. They answered every one, even ones I was just plain curious.
