<p>freshman year:
semester one: 3.5 (no ap and honor classes)
semester two: 4.0 (no ap and honor classes)</p>

<p>sophomore year:
semester one: 4.0 (1 ap and 1 honors) my weighted GPA: 4.03
semester two: 4.2 (1 ap and 1 honors) unweighted: 3.67</p>

<p>junior year:
semester one: 4.3 (3 ap and 2 honors)
semester two: 4.1 (3 ap and 2 honors)</p>

<p>im taking the ACT on September and October and was wondering what scores i should get in order to be in the "safe zone"</p>

<p>extracurricular activities:
-urban surf 4 kids club : where we take foster kids to go out and do water sports activity. treasurer last year and vice president this year
-i'm in Link crew: a club to help out the school
-been on the school dance team since sophomore year
-volunteer at the animal care facility
-have about 125 hours of community service and my goal is around 250-300 hours
-National Honors Society
- Track and Field junior year</p>

<p>Are you a resident of either state? A couple of years ago the UW admitted quite a few out-of-state students in order to maximize their tuition revenue, but I think that they’ve stopped doing that as much. The UW is pretty formula driven, but as the state’s flagship school they tend to demand a higher GPA, particularly for out-of-state students. I think you really need to pull something in the neighborhood of a 3.75 (it varies by year) and certainly no less than the low 30s composite for the ACT.</p>

<p>I’m a WA resident so I know for the in-state kids, usually somewhere around 1900 SAT/29 ACT with comparable grades is golden. If you could get a 30 ACT, as the person above said, you should have a good shot!</p>

<p>And dont we use our weighted GPA when applying to Universities? </p>
