University of Florida Decisions Class of 2022

Looks like the verdict will be in this Friday, February 9th after 6 pm. Wishing everyone luck!

Does UF defer students or 2/9 admission results seals the deal… One will either be accepted or denied?

@fall2018 Their website states that 2/9 is the decision date for everyone that submitted their application before the Nov 15 deadline, and that March 31 is the decision date for those that applied after Nov 15. Since they describe applications received after Nov 15 as “considered on space-available basis”, I take that to mean that there is no deferral option. I’m not sure how they process the two sets of applications, but given their notification date is so late compared to most schools with EA/ED applications, I would think there is no need for them to actually defer.

UF doesn’t defer students. A (very) few students get accepted after that date, and these are successful appeals, late applications, etc.

I’m bracing myself for the rejection…

You are not alone! I’m the parent and ok if my S doesn’t get accepted. He has great options and will be happy at other places. He wants to be accepted.

I know the Freshman admissions decisions will not be available until Friday, 2/9 after 6 PM. However, when my son logged into the portal using the coalition username and password he can no longer see his application details as before (example submission of SSAR, UFID, his name, etc). The drop down on the upper right corner does not even show his username, but just the generic “CollegeNet User” Does anyone know if this is just the current “default” being displayed to ALL freshman applicants? Hate to read into it, but it seems strange that his UFID, name and other information is not listed.

^^^^You promoted me to look. My DD’s is also blank.

@FPAparent I just checked my daughter’s and all it says is Application status: decisions will be available after 6 pm Friday Feb 9

No username or any identifying info found on the page.

@Mom2NND we see the same thing.

@Mom2NND I see the same as well.

We see the same thing. No username, but I can’t remember if it ever had one?

Same for D, as well. Not holding much hope as I continue to see (through other online sources) how skewed the state of Florida schools are. Demand is so great based on supply. D gets “deferred” at USF (are you kidding?), but accepted at FSU. Then gets accepted at very highly ranked public business schools (Indiana University, Miami U (Ohio), and University of Minnesota). This is crazy–and unpredictable. Tried to look at the Common Data Set figures to make sense of any of this. Some of it does, some of it doesn’t.

Best of luck to you all tomorrow!

@Nomad4 Where does she want to go? What is her second choice?

does that mean its coming out at 6? or after

Try before 6 if you can (around 5:30ish) I heard that sometimes they post their decisions early!

@Nomad4 same here. No logic. S accepted to USF, Penn State and The Ohio State University, but got summer at FSU?? Florida schools are really unpredictable, especially with such a high percentage in state acceptances. Not feeling optimistic about tomorrow at all, but have resigned myself to the fact that this is a process and it is leading him to somewhere. Sending your daughter good vibes for tomorrow

@Nomad4 I’m in the same boat as your D. I got into Ohio, Mercer, and FSU, but I was deferred by UCF. Very odd year.

@danielle6849 Focus is business school and management. Second choice is probably Indiana

UF is our first choice, but I’m not feeling too confident at this point. After that, idk. He loved UMD but it’s too expensive. I’m thinking FSU or Rutgers. FSU would be a whole lot more fun than Rutgers (and college is supposed to be fun).
