What are people's feelings on these two schools? Which one is considered a better university? Specifically in the area of pre-medicine, but any other thoughts about the campus or student body as a whole are appreciated. I just am curious if there are significant differences in the degree of rigor/education between the two? Thank you!

I got in to both and i hd to make this choice a few days ago, so i know exactly what you’re thinking. Emory is a better school numerically, no doubt about it. So to me it all came down to the money. If you can pay for Emory without taking out loans, i would go there no matter what your major is. If you think money will be an issue, i recommend do what i’m doing and go to UF, since it’s much cheaper. But at the end of the day, UF isn’t far under Emory, so you can’t go wrong with either school.

Like IBathlete, I got into both schools and had to pick between the two. It ultimately came down to money for me. I got a full ride at UF whereas I would have to take out loans to attend Emory so I chose UF. Emory is a great school though and is continuously ranked higher than UF. I’m looking to go there for medical school if accepted.

If you’re going premed then go where ever is going to be cheaper to you. From what I’ve read, medical school admission committees don’t specifically care where you did your undergrad, or what it’s in. They care about your GPA, MCAT, and EC’s.

Med school as you should know is very expensive, and you’ll need to take out loans for that, adding an extra 50-70k in loans from undergrad will make you paying off loans for a very, very long time.
