Parents: You think that you are doing yourself a favor by saving $$ and sending your
child to Uof FL. You are NOT!! Did you know that many of the courses are given online--thats right! Your child will not be going to class in a physical location with a real teacher. The state of Florida is so broke that they have cut way way back on money for the university. There are zero Physical Education courses at UofFL. None! There are limited if any tutors for students. Your student is on his/her own. If you have a child who needs a little extra help--it is not going to happen at UF. Career Guidance? Forget it! Again, your child is on his/her own.
All of that doesn't even touch the party atmosphere at UF. Going to class is a joke! Sometimes it is better to send one's child to a smaller school, or a junior college for two years. I speak from experience. I don't know what they are doing at UF but it is not an academic institution. It is a total waste of $$ and time to send one's child to UF for 4+ years.

For many Florida residents, UF is very affordable. As for online classes, that may be an option for some courses, but no one is forced to take them. Physical fitness is more something to be personally responsible for by the time one is of college age, and there are parties at every school. I know several successful students and graduates of UF who learned.

Yes, the 2+2 program is also a great deal, and it’s the right plan for many. UF isn’t for everyone (I won’t be going), but don’t say it’s a waste of an education.

Post in UF forum.

Online is not an option but the only way to take many of the courses.—especially the
business majors. The classes you do have to attend are huge–one needs to ask these questions before applying. The students will tell you.
