University of Florida

I'm wondering how highly ranked people would consider the University of Florida, especially in the field of engineering. I am a high school senior and atm I have been accepted to UF and WashU. Still waiting on Cornell, Carnegie, UCB, Stanford, and Colombia. I have been offered a 20k scholarship to UF which pretty much covers most of my expenses except room and board and miscellanous costs for 4 years. I've also received a 30k scholarship to WashU but tuition there is much more pricy. I would love to go to a top tier school but kinda doubtful on my acceptance to the colleges I'm waiting on and would rather not be in large debt coming out of college from student loans if im not offered substantial finicial aid.

bump…

the University of Florida is a fantastic school. My boyfriend is in the engineering program at UF (first year) and he absolutley loves it. the engineering program is HIGHLY regarded.
If you are seriously considering engineering as a degree, then do well as an undergraduate and get into an elite engineering GRADUATE program. I know a girl who got into Harvard but decided to go to UF to save money. After UF, she is now in Harvards graduate law program. It matters more where you get your grad degree than your undergrad anyways. If you have a full ride it would make grad school obtainable and you would save yourself thousands and thousands of dollars in debt.
UF is a great school (and a top party school =] ) I’m a junior and planning on applying there (my 1st choice school) for graphic design.
