University of Illinois Chicago vs Temple University? Which one should I choose?

I recently got accepted into these two universities and while I still have time to decide I want to start learning more about them. Unless I get into my top choices I would probably have to choose between these two because they are super affordable for me. I got really good scholarships from both!

I’m leaning toward Temple at the moment, but I can still change my mind. Which one would you choose and why?

Thank you!

What matters is what is important to YOU.
What attracted you to these two schools?
Have you done overnight visits to both?
Have you compared course offerings, faculty, and other resources for your intended major?
Have you explored internship opportunities or alumni outcomes for that major?
Have you looked into housing, dining, and other quality-of-life issues?

Have you considered factors that might account for ranking differences?

The one difference that jumps out at me is UI-Circle’s much higher percentage of large classes (>= 50 students).
Do you care about that?
If so, how does it play out in some of the courses you’d actually take (such as prerequisites for your major)?
Sometimes you can look up enrollment sizes in a school’s online course listings.

My D is probably going to Temple (art) and I know many students there as well as alumni as I live near Philadelphia. What is your prospective major? Have you visited both campuses? I am not familiar with UI-C but Temple’s campus is OK for some and not for others (VERY urban, little green space). Temple has some very strong programs, and if you want to work in Philadelphia or New York City it can open doors for you. It just started a “Fly in 4” program to make sure all incoming students finish in 4 years. This is unique and a real plus or Temple. We just went to Experience Temple Day and I highly recommend that if you can get to Philly for it. We were very excited about the university and its future after this day. I will say that in my opinion the school has improved massively in the last 4 years since my son was accepted and chose not to attend. Students seem very happy there. It’s a real melting pot and you will meet students from all races and walks of life.

I think Temple is great. you can visit this link and compare the two colleges.
