I was wondering if anyone knows anything about the University of Iowa's financial aid generosity for out of state students. I was thinking about applying however I could not find any information on the average financial aid package given to out of state applicants.

Have you actually looked at the web site? [Scholarships for First-Year Students - Undergraduate Admissions - The University of Iowa](http://www.uiowa.edu/admissions/undergrad/scholarships/first-year.htm)

Yes, I have looked at the website. I was referring to grant money, not scholarships.

Additionally, these scholarships only give you a few thousand dollars each and I only qualify for one of them. Out of state tuition is about $25,000, so the scholarship I qualify for wouldn’t really help me that much. But, thanks for the help.

In general, except for UVA and UNC-CH, publics do not give much need based FA to OOS students. As a matter of fact, with state budgets so tight these days, OOS students are appreciated for the revenue they bring in due to the higher tuition they pay.

Unfortunately, I’ve rarely seen either admissions rates or FA information broken down between IS and OOS students.
