@srk2017 I’m really sorry to hear that :-/ With such a high GPA that is rather strange…
I still have not gotten an email…if you guys don’t mind could you tell me what you see when you log in to the log in page of SSTP?
https://itsnt842.iowa.uiowa.edu/BBC_Portal/Account/Login.aspx
sorry guys i meant this link: https://itsnt842.iowa.uiowa.edu/bbc_portal/account/dashboard/register/sstp.aspx?session=354&prog=sstp
@cynowjo I also haven’t gotten an email yet, and when I log on it says “Pending Acceptance”
Oops, by weighted, I meant by number of classes but weighted GPA is 4.5.
@kitkat321 does it say that under program info?
@cynowjo No, it was at the top of the page when I clicked “View Enrollment Checklist”. But actually, I just checked my parents email and for some reason the decision email was sent to them, not me.
“We are pleased to inform you that you have been selected as an alternate.” Yes, because limbo is such a fun place to be
For those who did get accepted, does the page for you to choose to accept or decline direct you to this page? https://itsnt842.iowa.uiowa.edu/BBC_Portal/Account/Login.aspx
Email went to spam folder in Yahoo. If you are using Yahoo, check spam folder if you haven’t received any email.
Actually never mind the link actually works now.
Does anyone happen to know sstp’s acceptance rates in previous years? the blog seems to be pretty reserved in regards to number of people participating in the program and number of applicants
Also, to any alumni, do you know of anyone from your sstp class who was successful at science fairs like Intel/Siemens? If not, did many attempt them at all?
I am not exactly sure about acceptance rates or science fairs, but I do know an alumnus who is going to MIT and went to this camp before.
I know someone who went to Northwestern after SSTP, but I don’t know if it was a big factor on her college app…
Does anyone know how strict the deadline for accepting/declining is? Do we have to decide BY the 10th or can we do so on that day? The app was listed as due on the 27th and I remember on the day of the 27th, the link for registration was removed. However, my teacher submitted a recommendation a few days later and it was fine. A decision from another program is probably going come out on the 10th, and I’d like to wait before deciding for SSTP.
Did anyone else got admitted? I’m from CT and I just received admission letters. I’m in Dr. Fassler’s biology lab. Do you guys how many people participate per year?
Usually around 30 people per year.
Does anyone at least have some idea of how many applicants there are per year?
I was just wondering, did you guys submit your ECs, and if so, how? I couldn’t find a place to upload my resume in the online portal.
There was no place to submit extracurriculars on the application~ i guess that’s just not something they decided to look at for our applications…
For me, I just kind of incorporated what I did as my extracurriculars in my essays.
Did anyone make a Facebook group for this year’s SSTP yet?
