University of Maryland CHANCE PLEASE!!! (transfer)

My Stats
Grades/Credits
Right now I have a 3.24 GPA with 21 credits, I am in the process of taking 9 more credits. I will be applying for the 2011 Fall semester, and I will have my application in by the June 1st deadline.

Activities/Ect..
I have countless hours of community service, I participated in high school athletics, and Ive completed a internship as an assistant coach for a youth football team.

I shouldn't have to send my High School GPA and SAT scores since I will meet the credit requirement for transfer students. Oh, and I am a Maryland resident if that matters.

I wasn't accepted to Northeastern, do you think UMD will accept me?

Try to be honest!!!!

bump…

What grades do you expect for your current 9 credits? They really don’t look much at ECs, high school GPA or SAT scores. I don’t know if 3.24 GPA is high enough for a transfer; most of the ones we’ve seen had higher GPA’s, but the people who are NOT accepted as transfer students don’t usually come back here to CC to tell their story. You’ve got a chance…good luck (but study BIG TIME for your finals in your current classes!!!)

I am expecting 2 A’s and a B … so hopefully a 3.4 by the time I transfer, it would be into the letter and sciences college if that makes a difference

I was told by an Adviser that a 3.0 is considered competitive, but I mostly have general education classes so idk how that will look

You should be in good shape, as a transfer student from Maryland. Good luck!

It’s looking good Jac340 especially if you’re instate with a 3.4gpa. I was accepted as a transfer for fall 2011.
My general info:
-3.7gpa with 31 credits (my classes weren’t rigorous, I can post my transcripts if you want.)
-No Ecs
-received President’s transfer scholarship from umd (I’m oss)
-Computer science major
