Finally got DD acceptance! She got into the Smith School of Business! Very excited for her. She has gotten in to so,e great schools and already had a lot of merit scholarships offered so I don’t know where she will end up for sure. Our whole family is a Terp loving family!
@collegegal2 - Here is the tgread from last year. It looks like late February to mid March
My son got admitted to CS and has been invited to the FIRE Program. We are from CT and will be moving within CT in 2 days. How can I change the address on record to make sure we dont miss out on any communication. Please help.
The easiest way to not miss any snail mail is to fill out a forwarding address packet at the post office first. They will automatically send all mail to the new address from the date you designate and on for at least 3 months (maybe 6 months?). You should be able to change the address with Maryland easily also :
Q: How do I update my personal information?
If you need to update your personal information, please email us (ApplyMaryland@umd.edu) with your full name, date of birth and any requested updates to your personal information.
If a move happens after matriculating, here is the info

@collegegal2 Here is the page about Honors College admissions as an incoming freshmanhttp://www.honors.umd.edu/admission-fresh.html
and here is the info for after you matriculate
http://www.honors.umd.edu/admission-current.html
There is no formal process for appealing honors as an incoming freshman that I am aware of; although it is true that other posters have done so, I have no experience in that respect.
@maryversity Thank You. Took care of forwarding the mail via post office. Just wanted to make sure the address is updated in the university records as well. Did that as well. Appreciate the help.
Any updates on the B/K scholarship? I thought they’d have sent them out by now.
@maryversity @SoofDad For the V1 Dependent Standard Form (2017-2018 Verification Worksheet), in the table of household members, I listed all my household members and since all of them won’t be attending college/university, I left the college/university and # of credit boxes blank… Now that I view it, I think i should have put “N/A” there instead. Is there a way I can adjust the form after I submitted it? Will it really be a big deal that I didn’t put “N/A” and put blank instead?
@biologylover The B/K semi-finalist letters were sent out. Did you receive an email telling you to look for something in the mail? If so, then maybe its delayed. If not, then you likely aren’t a semi-finalist.
@YoohooAddict - I don’t know the answer Maybe you can call them on Monday.
@SoofDad I mean I have to print the form tho and fax it to UMD… So would it be right to write “N/A” by pen in the table before I fax it or should I just leave it blank?
@YoohooAddict - I’m not familiar with that form, so I don’t know the right answer. We didn’t have to submit a form like that/
@SoofDad Alright, thanks for the help anyway!
So this is my status as for financial aid: The Office of Student Financial Aid has received your Student Aid Report (SAR). You have been selected for verification. Please provide the requested document/information by April 1, 2017. The document(s) needed are listed under the ‘Documents’ link. Once you have completed the form(s), you MUST print the validated form(s), provide the appropriate signatures, AND mail or fax the completed form(s) to (301)405-9265. NOTE: All processing of your financial aid has stopped pending receipt and verification of these documents.
Now, one of the forms is the “Students 2015 W-2 Forms From All Employers” but how am I going to submit it if I wasn’t employed anywhere? I’m getting all confused with this. @maryversity @SoofDad
@YoohooAddict - I found the following statement on the link below. Maybe they can help.
“If you would like to discuss your circumstances with a financial aid counselor, please contact our office at 301-314-9000, and selection Option #1.”

my d applied by priority dead line and due to SAT scores not in by nov 1, she was told she will be considered with regular. Is there possibility they send the decision prior to mar 31. Please advise. Thanks
@maryversity @SoofDad So I attended the Young Scholars Program at UMD back in my sophomore year and I indicated on my common app that I took a college level course. They asked me for a transcript, and I have one, but when I’m trying to send it electronically without charge to other schools, it doesn’t show some of the schools I want to send it to. What should I do?
@YoohooAddict - Maybe you can ask to have them mailed. I don’t any experience with what you are trying to do
Can everyone please post their stats?
Guys, I’m committing to UMD.Good luck to all of you, and I hope to see you guys at UMD! lolz
