This whole timing is a pain for someone like me. I don’t have all that much confidence that I will be admitted, but I have a sliver of hope. I got accepted to Towson, and my deposit is due May 1st. If I don’t get accepted and I appeal (Because I’m having the best semester in my college career currently), the appeal takes “up to three weeks”. So yeah… I’m dying over here basically.
@AndradeJ you have guaranteed admission to a non-LEP program.
I heard transfer to Clark Engineering is guaranteed if you have a GPA above a 3.5 and have the required classes. Is this only true for internal transfers or external as well?
You’re pretty much guaranteed admission to any LEP except Business as long as you meet the requirements.
let’s hope tomorrow’s the day!
This pope says “Lets hope”
Some people were told “the end of the week”, so this whole week will be filled with anticipation. When asked in previous years why its taking so long, the answer is often “waiting on documents from students”… So if they don’t have the right stuff at the right time why should we be penalized?
No decisions tomorrow, we riot
If people haven’t sent in documents by now that shouldn’t be our fault. The people who forget to send it documents should be deferred to the June 1 deadline instead of being considered for the March 1 deadline and holding up 1000s of decisions… Does not make sense. I won’t be able to get my $750 housing deposit from my current school refunded after May 1 so let’s get the decisions rolling…
I doubt that “we’re waiting on documents” is the reason. At the very least they may wait on financial aid paper work but I highly doubt it’s anything associated with the application. I chalk it up to that there were more than an average amount of applicants and it’s taking a little longer than usual. Anyone from admissions saying something along the lines of “End of the week” is merely covering their butts. If they said “It’ll be out this Wednesday” and something should go wrong and it doesn’t come out then, their phones will be ringing off the hooks with angry applicants. I know it’s not the popular thing to say but in reality they don’t owe any of us anything and they’ll take their time to get the applications done. I also applied to GWU and they won’t be releasing decisions until the end of the month or early into next month.
@RealSpacePope @bbe267 @CasimirPulaski1 When I called on Friday, the guy I talked to said early next week. so I’m expecting tomorrow or Tuesday. But who knows with them, could be Friday for all we know.
I am so nervous about how competitive this year seems to be. Especially since I applied only to UMD. Do you all think that demonstrated interested is very important? Because I did a campus tour, but I didn’t make contact with any admissions officers or anything
@tecz77 what are your stats?
I guess part of the reason I’m so nervous is because I go to a LAC that deflates grades, so I have absolutely no idea how they take that into consideration. I have a 3.0 GPA, which is pretty good for my school, but I’m only a second semester freshman so I also had to send in my high school grades (which was like maybe a 3.5) and my ACT score (34)
I got accepted with like a 3.33 gpa from college and i had 30 credits at the time so i didn’t have to submit anything from high school. I applied for the business LEP this semester as a internal transfer with a 3.77 gpa from my previous college and i had taken one class at umd so my gpa at umd is 4.0 right now so hopefully i get accepted.
Can someone call them today and ask if decisions will be released today?
@CasimirPulaski1 “the next week or two” but I don’t think it’s the case. That would mean end of this month-early June so I don’t think it’s gonna be more than today. Let’s just wait
I leaning more towards desicions coming out tomorrow, if I’m being honest
But just in case, has anyone received the housing link glitch?? :((
Everyone is coming back from a holiday weekend. Wouldn’t expect any updates til after lunch.
