Gotta love UMD! Admission/Housing deposits for some schools is May 1st so… Looks like I’ll have to call and claim “Financial distress” and ask for a week or two of leeway since UMD can’t make up their mind.
I’m gonna be triggered and need to go to my safe space if decisions don’t come out by Friday.
What makes you guys think it won’t happen today? People were saying earlier it’ll either be today, thursday, or friday. I’m still crossing my fingers for today
Why not Wednesday?
Why not the 14th like normal
Lol
Who are these people? @CasimirPulaski1
One of my friends went to admission at UMD today to ask, and the lady told him they will be released at the end of this week.
hello evertyone, if we get in, does anyone know the dates to begin registering for classes??? i cant find it on the website anywhere, i can only find the dealine
@Elliephant430 you register for classes during your orientation when you meet with an advisor
I think it will be Friday since they normally release the decisions on a Friday.
Just don’t expect a date because they don’t follow their own release date or keep their word lol they will release it when they feel like it.
Yeah they’re the worst. I’ve never seen such lack of professionalism.
I supposed they haven’t said anything about the actual number of transfer applications they received this year, have they? Because everyone has been saying they had a very competitive year, but I’d be interested know exactly how many more students applied this year than in past years and exactly why that would be
My daughter is so upset! This is very unnecessary and I’m not sure why they couldn’t be more transparent with the dates? Regardless, she is a current freshman, will have completed 24 credits by May. Has a 3.7 GPA and was a collegiate athlete (D3). She’s taken an equivalent Eng 101, but has not had any math yet, so is worried sick. (Side note, she applied as a Senior in high school with a 4.3 GPA and was denied) . So the stress and anxiety is through the roof!!!
I’m doubtful an increase in applications caused the delay this year. I bet you this year will be highly competitive, but university admissions across the board have been getting more and more difficult as overall demand rises. This year’s decision is significantly later than any other year, despite them remaining more or less constant in release date in past years.
I know UMD has been becoming a more competitive school but at least they should of released a statement saying they would not be able to meet their deadline and a reason.
Even if it is more competitive it should not be a delay. The only reason I can think of is that either the people did not gather everything in time for the reviewing committee or everyone was working slow and not being efficient with their time or they just started everything late.
@AndradeJ we shouldn’t be punished for their unprofessionalism
What should or shouldn’t happen doesn’t really matter, the situation is what it is and there’s not much anybody can do about it.
I just called admissions and the rep said “for sure it’s not today.” They said within the next week.
