I have others schools that offered me admissions, but have not accepted because UMD is my first choice. If I get admitted and find no housing I will most likely have to commute my first semester until I find an off campus housing.
@6b32aa He said transferring UMD with an AA/AS is easy; anything over 3.0 you’re in. But if you get into letters and sciences you didn’t make into the LEP program and will have to switch to your alternative you provided. LEP should have decision same day as the regular college. But he graduated from CP 2 years ago, applied to LEP freshamn year, 7 years ago. Things may have changed, Smith keeps moving up the rankings… I was told by my transfer advisor that for Smith you need at least a 3.6, strong resume, ECs, and good recommendations.
I got a 2.7 gpa from Salisbury university with about 45 credits majoring in biochemistry, I mentioned I was involved in a lot of on campus clubs and got a strong recommendation from my teacher and applied priority. Possibility of getting accepted?
@lgh999 don’t worry. GPA doesn’t matter as much as we think it does. They care about credits. You should be okay
@sbk0021 Yea so many things change throughout the years. Especially in these larger universities. Assuming I do not get into my LEP program and only admitted to my alternative choice can I request to change my major after a semester or two of being admitted?
yeah, UMD needs to release their decisions soon. I got accepted to the #2 school I want to transfer to and if I wait any longer than next week, i might lose my spot as well. UMD is just screwing everything up by taking so long hoesntly
I assume tomorrow by 5pm is when we’re gonna hear considering that’s about when everyone else did from the past years
That is the same problem I am in right now, all the universities that I applied to want the enrollment deposit by May 1st but I want to do it before that date because then it will be very slim for me to reside on campus having it be already to difficult for us transfer students.
Does anyone know if you get rejected for the fall do they put you in consideration for spring admission or do you have to apply again?
you have to apply again
Yeah they only do that for Freshman where if they aren’t accepted for fall semester they are reconsidered for spring.
Guys, also, if you’re gonna be commuting to school and not living on campus (like me) then why would they send you a housing application. That’s why the housing glitch doesn’t make sense to me.
Actually on the UMD Transfer website it says “Transfer applicants who apply for admission to the fall semester are also automatically considered for admission to the spring semester.”
if my grades are gonna be substantially better than first semester and i dont get in, do you think appealing the decision would do me any good
Yea I actually read that also on their website. Those who do not make it into fall admissions they are reconsidered for spring admissions. But if thats the case for my application I probably will not risk it and stick my second university choice.
no decision today it seems. hoping for tmrw!
@sccr97 What does it say on your end? Where do they post it?
they either email you or they post it all the way at the bottom underneath the application forms. I did not get anything today either.
The past years they always found out on a Thursday. I really thought they would’ve been out today!
@loziol doesn’t it suck that we can’t access it with our phones. Ugh
