University of Maryland Transfer (chance me please!)

Hey all,
As repetitive as this is, can I get some chances and outside information on my chances? I'm applying to transfer into UMD College Park the fall semester of 2013 for my sophomore year. I am currently a freshman in Lehigh University's engineering program (bioengineering to be specific, which would be my intended major at UMD). My biggest worry is, due to a lack of fit in my current school, my first semester GPA was VERY low. However, since it's still my freshman year, I'm hoping a large emphasis will be on my HS stats. So please lemme here any input!

Residency: PA
HS: college prep school
HS GPA: 4.0/4.0 (unweighted) 4.18 (weighted)
SAT: 720 Math 640 Writing 620 Crit Reading
ECs: varsity track, JV wrestling, on student government organization, Middle States Planning Committee, etc.

College First Semest GPA: 2.72
EC: club wrestling, community organizer of living community

Having a 3.0 woulda really helped… your SATS are good though and you have some extra currics… its really hard to say, I wish you luck though. There really is no magic answer for people transferring in. They go through applications and there are always the yes, the nos, and the maybes and it depends on who else is in the stack with you.

Right my gpa is definitely what’ll kill me, my only save so far is I’m in the process of bringing it up this semester. Thanks for the input :)
