I am a sophomore now in high school with a 2.7857 GPA. Grades for my freshman year were:
Liberal Arts Matmatics 1: D,
Spanish 1: D,
Envionmental Science Honors: C,
English Honors 1: B,
Drawing 1: A,
Hope/Physical Education Variation: A,
Leadership techniques: A,
I know that my GPA is low, but this sophomore year I will try my hardest to rsise my GPA to at least a 3.8, when I graduate. So what are my chances to getting into UM or FSU if my GPA does not raise, and stays at a 2.7.
Both schools would be major reaches. For example, FSU only considers your grades from 9th to 11th grade (and any college prep classes you took in middle school, like Algebra 1). Also, FSU only considers academic classes, so that A in leadership will not help your GPA.
Now!, you still have two years to get your GPA up, much higher, but you’ll need to get mostly A’s and a few B’s, and start taking Honor or AP/duel enrollment type classes. You have to do well in math, science and language art classes.
Even if you can’t get your GPA up enough for FSU, you still have several other ways/paths. You could go to another school, like a CC, and then transfer to FSU. You could also pick one of the other public (or even private) schools in Florida.
Ether way, only good things will happen, if you can start increasing your GPA.
Good Luck!
Ok, thanks for the information!
Right now I think you’re looking at FAU or FGCU, unless you raise those grades in a major way.
