University of Miami vs Notre Dame

So I initially deposited at the University of Miami but was later accepted off the waitlist at Notre Dame. I like both schools a lot, maybe Miami a little more because I like Florida and I have some family down there. Overall, Miami would be less expensive than Notre Dame, maybe by 20k per year if I get no financial aid from Notre Dame. I’m wondering if it should be a no brainer to go to Notre Dame because of the schools prestige and the networking that the school has? Should I definitely be going to South Bend or is it worth it to deeply consider Miami as well?
Thanks and let me know where you would go to.

Wait until you get the aid package from ND.

What would you say if I got no aid from Notre Dame?

What major and where will you get the additional $80,000?

Not sure what major, but I got into the business school at Notre Dame, so I feel it is tough to pass that up. Maybe management or marketing

ND is higher ranked overall but I would be hard pressed to justify the additional cost. Your choice will depend in part on your family’s ability to pay.

These 2 schools are quite different and both great. If your family can afford ND and it is a fit- GO FOR IT! If you can;t afford ND or think Miami is a better fit then stick with Miami.

If you get no aid then it would depend on if your family could comfortably afford the difference (no loans/no hardship) and if you prefer ND. For full disclosure my H and S (for grad school) went to Mendoza so I’m a fan…but even with that, it is not worth taking on a debilitating amount of debt to attend.
