University of Michigan - Ann Arbor!!!!!

It happened about a month ago. Early March I recieved a fat envelope from the University of Michigan - Ann Arbor with my acceptance letter inside of it. I was kind of surprised how they responded so quickly, but I guess it was because I applied in early January. A few weeks ago, I recieved my financial aid notice. Although I won’t say how much I recieved (>30), people who were familiar with financial aid awards were surprised by how much I was awarded (out of state.)

I didn’t post anything on CC because I wanted to wait for a reply from Cornell University and UC Berkeley, but as the days went by my interest in UMich grew.

They have a 1 week winter break which is complemented with a 4 month summer break; let’s talk swimming in the beach while other college students are studying for final exams!!! and still having enough time to complete a full internship!

They have study abroad opportunities for transfer students; Oxford, Cambridge, LSE!!!

The University of Michigan - Ann Arbor is ranked 13th for economics, 7th for mathematics, and 3rd for political science.

Although I would probably love the weather in California and graduating from an Ivy league is still very enticing, I am now leaning towards studying at UMich. Yesterday night I paid my $200 enrollment deposit for the University of Michigan, and I am now in search of a nice warm winter jacket ;).

Did anyone else get accepted to UMICH? If so, then please give me your contact information. Let’s keep in touch!

-Jae

I got accepted to U Mich around the same time as you do. I chose U Mich really cause it's a great school with opportunities that rival any other top school. And yeah, I'm like you, the transferring and ability to study abroad is a HUGE thing for me. I want to go to Korea specially in summer of 2008, and possibly Beijing for Spring 2009.

mmm can't wait!

Cvjn,

What year will you transferring to? Sophomore, Junior? I only ask because you say that you want to study in Beijing during the spring of 2009.

What school did you get into? LSA, Ross? What are you planning on studying?

-Jae

I'll be a Sophomore. I got into LSA, but I want to transfer into Ross - not sure if I can, but I'll try.

If I don't get in, I'll probably major in Economics with a minor in something else. If I do get in, something with Finance.

You?

If I go, I'll be entering as a junior. I was accepted as an economics major, but I may change it (I don't know if I can.) I want to study mathematics and political science, and minor in economics. Wierd huh?

You want to transfer to Ross huh?
