Moreso for the accepted applicants than others, but a lot of schools gave decisions today. Who's moved UM up on their list, who's not going anymore?

Accepted at Michigan, Cornell, Northwestern, USC, Purdue
Rejected at Penn and Columbia

Purdue and USC are out of the picture. It's between Cornell, Michigan, and Northwestern. Probably a slight edge to Michigan.

seems like the easier ivy's this year are cornell and harvard...at least those are the only acceptances im really hearing.

well i always wanted to go to UMD and after i got accepted to umich, it changed for a little but i realized that it's really not for me. such a great school, but so far, and the atmosphere doesn't sit well with me...and i got into the honors at UMD so i think that'll open up a lot of opportunities for me. so, UMD, here i come! (well, like, 98% lol)

well it would be nice if i could hear from michigan.

its probably American with merit aid or honors at UGA, I can't afford NYU(even though I got in) and probably not Umich either...

HAHAHA Umich didn't send me anything yet and i applied in October. HAHA and guess what? I got into Columbia COllege and I'm definitely going there. NYC> ann arbor Screw you michigan. HAHAHAHA.

Well, it looks like it's going to come down to four schools: UM (20k per year), PSU (full ride), Johns Hopkins, Duke. Any suggestions?

Go to Duke.

Duke or UM

duke (chars)

If it were me:
1. Michigan
2. Duke
3. PSU
4. Johns Hopkins

This is based on personal conversations with friends at each school. Based on what I've heard, the experiences at those schools (with the merit info you provided) would rank that way.

I am down to Michigan and Texas. My parents would like me to go to Illinois and save them some money. I got into business at all 3 schools.

i'm down to michigan and texas as well, engineering. i got scholarships for both but michigan will still maybe at least twice as much more than texas.

Accepted at Michigan, Cornell, Case, UMass.
Waitlisted at MIT, Caltech, Harvard, Princeton (ouch, guys)

Financial aid is abysmal for Michigan, I'll have to see what Cornell does, but I can't expect better. It's a four-way-balancing scale between really wanting to go there, academic standards, and money, as I have considerable scholarships from Case and more considerable ones from UMass.

But if money weren't an issue, I guess I'd be tossing it up between Michigan and Cornell.

goldnjet, I'd suggest going to the best business school (I believe it's Michigan here?)...you'll be breathing ferrari's in ten years, why worry about a little pocket change now?

accepted - upenn-wharton, umich, unc, washu, umiami, uconn, columbia, duke, tufts, rice

rejected - harvard

michigan gave me poor financial aid... they've fallen out of contention

accepted - michigan, univ of georgia, univ of ill-urbana, georgia tech

michigan is at the top only if i get reasonable financial aid

D's top three contenders: UMich, NYU and UCLA. No clue which.

My top three contenders are: Michigan, Vanderbilt, and Missouri (almost free). I got waitlisted at Duke and Cornell.

Accepted: Michigan (Shipman scholarship), USC (presidential scholarship), MIT, Caltech

Rejected: Harvard.

One more school to go, and it's probably not a very likely place for me to go, so I'm almost certain I'm going to come to UM next year.

Eh, it's really between NYU and UMich. But, I barely got anything from UMich so I'll probably be going to NYU.
