@lawandphotos No one really knows your chances, but dang, child I like your profile! You have such a clear point of view and you show clear progression and leadership in your interests. While some might say your test scores are a little low, I think everything else you did in High School is unique, creative and progressive - I believe UMich LOVES seeing this in applicants. Maybe I say this because your remind me of my daughter who was accepted Feb '18 for UMich Class of 2022. She is finishing her first semester in Ann Arbor and is so happy. A little advice to you and others who applied EA: don’t be sad if your application is deferred this week - keep investigating other schools and options and think positively for perhaps a UMich acceptance before mid-April 2019. Good Luck and keep doing amazing things!
@Ezga3969 does that mean that we are predicting an email will be sent out at 3 or the portal will be updated at 3?
I don’t think I’m mentally prepared for this decision on Wednesday :-S
As a current sophomore at Ross, people will get their decisions most likely on Thursday.
@cdr2001 Decision on portal at 3. Emails sent later after 3.
@jam151 Same…especially when I was just deferred from UChicago:(
Wednesday or Thursday?
@yjliu well hopefully you’ll get some good news on Wednesday
So like, I get that they release the decisions on the portal n email and all that, but do they post on twitter or something when decisions should start rolling out?
@Nyomio No they don’t. I remember last year somebody actually asked and they said something like they don’t know or they said that they weren’t coming out that day, but then later in the day the decisions came out. Don’t expect them to tweet out a specific time and date.
I turned in my Ross application today, and I think it was very strong. I hope that turning it in later than Nov. 1 will not hold me back!
Where will we find out application status update when it is posted? Will it be on the wolverine access page?
So is it Wednesday or Thursday?
I believe your student can apply to another UMich college as a backup to Theater. My D auditioned for the acting bfa 2 years ago. Her application was prescreened and approved before she was assigned an audition appointment. It meant nothing as she was rejected to the BFA.
You should immediately look into also applying to another major. I think I recall others auditioning for bfa programs having done that.
Good luck!
Here’s an eye test. Do you see any EA decision releases on a Thursday in the last 7 years?
Tomorrow is (probably) the big day ? wow it’s been a long time coming haha
@LuvsLabs thank you. But just to confirm, is the process that when kids receive notification that they have not gotten into the acting program, they are told that they have been admitted to U Mich generally and can attend if interested in another major? Or do they have to re-apply in some capacity as soon as they learn about the acting decision?
If you look at this thread from last year, people started getting decisions at 3:00pm on Wednesday. Several posters noted that they got their decision on the portal Wednesday afternoon, but didn’t get an email until late Wednesday night/early Thursday morning. http://talk.qa.collegeconfidential.com/university-michigan-ann-arbor/1963344-university-of-michigan-ann-arbor-class-of-2022-early-action-p73.html
One question does anybody knows do your chance increases in EA if you work at UM as a research assistant (in engineering)?
@aaa124555 I guess it couldn’t hurt but you need to meet/exceeded their admission requirements first. But this would be a nice add on but should not take away from someone out of state that wouldn’t have that opportunity.
