Hi everyone, just curious if anyone knows my chances of being accepted Early Action to the University of Michigan?

GPA: 3.95

AP Classes: AP US History, AP Physics, AP Language and Composition, AP Biology, AP Psychology, AP US Government, AP Comparative Politics, AP Chemistry, AP Literature and Composition, AP Spanish, and AP Statistics

Other Beneficial Classes: Calculus (I’ve always been a year ahead in math but chose to opt out of AP Calculus AB), five years of honors spanish, honors math classes such as geometry, algebra 2, and trigonometry, honors english classes, anatomy and physiology, and honors chemistry.

Essays:
Common app was a generally humorous one about my anxiety and awkwardness and how theater has helped that.
Community based one was written about my experience with national honor society.
Why UM? was written about applying undecided and the community that AA offers for the LGBT community.
Community was about the democratic party and growing up in a generally conservative area.

Your chances look good.

It is a reach for you just as most OOS applicants. Your SAT score is around admission average while the OOS admission rate is at 20% or lower.

EC leadership roles will definitely help you. The thing is, most people have pretty strong EC’s in EA and it’s really mainly about test scores and GPA. Your test score is a tad low but GPA of 3.95 is good, weighted or unweighted. As a first generation, I’d give you a bit of a boost and maybe if you’re lgbt that also helps since michigan is literally all about showing off that they are “inclusive” to the point of being made fun of even by the liberals in the city.
