University of Michigan Fall 2019 Transfer Thread

I’m worried, because I’ve heard that it is super hard to transfer as a sophomore, and they mainly only accept junior transfers.

Hi Everyone,
When you are applying through common app, you can Add Continuing Education Courses. Are those just classes that you are registered for Spring semester and won’t complete before the deadline? If so, what is copy of course certificate that they ask for?
Thank you so much

@pushingtopull Sweet thank you! I’m on the quarter system and should have about 90 units when I transfer (UCs require 90 units for junior transfers).

Chance Me Please:
oos state, female, currently studying at another big 10 university. I’ll be coming in as a sophomore with 27 credits from first year of college and 13 credits from AP scores.
Applying to: LSA Economics or Communication
GPA: 3.8 (just first semester so far)
ACT: 31
High school GPA: 4.33 weighted, 3.87 uw
Lots of involvement in high school, in a women’s business group at university and have an on campus job

confused on their policy with sophomore transfers since the website says a successful transfer has 30+ credits, but since I have AP credit will that count towards the 30?
Thanks!

@hugebig10girl the farther from HS the better is why they mention that 30+ credit rule. Your HS GPA is pretty good to be honest for LSA so I wouldn’t be too worried  GL

Chance me
Freshman year college gpa 3.0 both semesters (Big 10 school)
Sophomore transferred to MSU and got 3.5 first semester. Applying for Junior transfer. What are my chances ?

I am currently a freshman in a big 10 school and would like to apply to LSA as a transfer. I was on the waiting list and didn’t get in last year when I applied. Do I still need to submit my test scores and high school transcript again? I believe they should already have it correct? I will be submitting by college (first semester transcript).

This thread is pretty quiet compared to last year’s. How is everyone’s applications coming?

I’ve been working on my essays for a while, i’m going to the last transfer tuesday before the application is due to get some in sight from a transfer advisor and hopefully get more of an idea of where I stand

@goblue1213 Crazy that it’s almost here?. What’s your stats?

(Accidently posted this in Winter 2019’s thread, don’t know how to delete posts.)
Hi,
Chance me please, LSA CompSci
3.46 GPA, OOS, URM (Hispanic), community college
76 credits
good essays,
great LOR
ECs include spending a significant amount of time mixing cover projects, food bank, Salvation Army, SkillsUSA Officer pat time job, one IT internship back in 2016 (Really it was a contract job) withdrew from 3 classes back in 2014 but came back when I decided I wanted to become a software engineer, and kicked ass in those classes, mostly As, a couple of Bs in my non major classes due to dumb mistakes.
Applying from FL, which is apparently over represented?
Any feedback is much appreciated.

@pushingtopull so i’m a girl who is attempting to transfer to LSA with a major in general biology probably (I am a premedical major right now), with 27 credits completed from MSU (ap’s and only a semester done) only 19 of those transfer with 16 in the works (35 all together). I have a 3.5 GPA, I am in various groups such as the premedical association and the ski club, I volunteer at the CDL, as well as the nearby hospital, I have some legacy, in high school I ended with a unweighted 3.6 and a weighted 3.9 with an 1170 SAT. I did a lot in high school and applied right out of high school and got deferred and denied. So hopefully this time around it works out! How about you?!

Hello! Please chance me! Best of luck to all applying

Did anyone else get an email about transfer credit evaluations? My email told me that my credits would be evaluated within 6 weeks and to check my unofficial transcript to see what credits transferred. However, I do not have access to the unofficial transcript yet yet.

@musicnat You prob have a good chance, but if I may, I woldn’t major in Russian unless you know for sure that major will get you a job you want such as Russian translator or such.

Since no one responded to my ChanceMe, I’ll post it again:
