Hello everyone!

I am looking for help in choosing between UMich & UNC Chapel Hill. I have been accepted to the University of Michigan and I am waiting to hear back from UNC. I would like to be prepared to make my decision between the two should I be accepted to UNC as well!

I am going for a degree in Marketing. University of Michigan is currently ranked #1/#2 (depending on the source) in the nation for a Marketing degree. This makes me lean towards UM - and I would double major in International Studies as well. So I am definitely leaning toward UM. I have yet to look much into how well UNCs Marketing program is - and if there's anything like the International Studies program at UM - but I have heard that it is on par with UM's Ross School of Business.

What makes this difficult is that I am originally from NC. I moved to MI a couple years ago and I REALLY miss the weather there! Michigan weather is awful and depressing 5-8 months of the year. It already started snowing :( Not my style whatsoever. Might move back to NC - so picking between these two Universities is a crucial moment as I am approaching my Junior year.

However, I don't want to be superficial and base it off the weather. I need to think long term.

Here's my pros and cons:

UMich PROS:

In-State Tuition Cost throughout.

Marketing program prestige

Double major of interest

Ann Arbor is a beautiful city and a great college town

Ross seemingly carries a heavier punch throughout the nation.

CONS:
- The weather is TERRIBLE.

UNC Chapel Hill PROS:

Beautiful weather

Academic reputation is on the same level as UMich (I won't get too much into opinions - let's just say they're very close)

Chapel Hills is also a beautiful place and great college town

CONS:
- Out of State tuition for first year, then In State.

If you've gotten this far through my post - I would love it if you can help me decide/bring up anything I am not considering! Of course this is dependent on if I even get accepted to UNC, but like I said, I would like to be prepared!

Thanks all
