Last four are second semester.
I'm not graduating until next June, but I'm going to live at my dual-enrollment college during senior year, so I won't be able to continue doing activities at my high school. (I'm allowed to, it just wouldn't be convenient.)

Science fair (10) There were five people and I did not win first, second, or third place. Science is not my calling, much as I'd like it to be.

Alateen (9, 10, 11, 12) This is like a 12-step program for children of alcoholics. I kind of wanted to write this down because it's given me public speaking opportunities (which I screwed up, but still), but I don't know if it's inappropriate/too personal.

Summers
Two local science camps (aerospace engineering and biomedical engineering, 11)

Other/Requisite Sob Story

I was in foster care from when I was 9 to when I was 12, after which my 80-year-old grandmother became my legal guardian. She died during my freshman year (RIP) and I had to move but didn't switch schools.

To be safe, assume my essays and recs are good but not phenomenal or anything.

Thank you! :D

For LSA, you are low match. You should be able to get some merit aid too. Some OOS students got $20k.

Does applying early action help any?
Do you know how important the “why Michigan” essay is compared to everything else? I’m not sure what to write.

i would say definitely a safety… have u considered ivies? u have incredibly competitive stats and a unique compelling story. i’d give HYPM serious consideration if i were you.

With ~30% acceptance rate, I would not consider UMich a safety even for low match. Applying EA would definitely help, particularly with merit aid.

you’re going to mit.

Subject Test scores:
Literature - 780
Math II - 800
Chem - 740 (probably not sending this one)

You have great stats and think you have a great chance for U Mich. Planning to apply to other elite schools as well?

I live in Michigan and you definitely have a high chance for U of M not only because of your grades and test scores but you seem to be very allrounded in terms of EC and volunteering too. I agree with @ognopgod that you should try for some Ivy leagues maybe! (i mean only if you want). U of M would be very lucky to have you!
Please chance me back!! :)
