University of Michigan Ross Preferred Admission Fall 2019

The view admissions decision is missing under the Ross BBA tab. But the view admissions decision for LSA is there. I don’t believe that there was a view admissions decision tab for Ross? Can anyone comment. Either way, we did not hear anything via portal or via email. Can anyone post stats that was accepeted into Ross today?

Hello! Everyone seems to be waiting on some info so I’d like to help out!

I was accepted EA to LSA back in December. Today, I received my Ross acceptance earlier through an email with the heading “Your Michigan Ross BBA Decision is here!” at 5:00 PM EST sharp. My portal has not updated, so I am assuming that acceptances will all be released by email blast.

Stats: OOS, 1540 SAT, 3.92 UW GPA

GO BLUE

Good luck to everyone on the next decision day 3/1!!!

@NewPoster123, my decision came out via email at exactly 5:00 PM est. however my portal isnt updated at.

Your portal will not be updated yet, the “view decision” tab should appear sometime this week if you were accepted today. Emails will always come right around 5pm EST on the release dates, and decisions will be released in no particular order, so don’t worry if you did not recieve an email today.

Here are my stats as I received the email today:
In-State
Unweighted GPA: 3.98
ACT: 32
Extracurriculars: DECA, Marketing Manager for HS Robotics club, and various high-involvement leadership roles.
Essays: 9/10 I believe these were the primary factor in my acceptance
Letter of Rec: 7/10
I also should say that I attend a small rural high school in Northern Michigan.
Good Luck to everyone!

very interesting that here on cc only 3 or 4 admitted today. very unusual.

My son got received an email at 5 pm and got into Ross.

can people please post on this when admitted to Ross and NOT the Michigan EA or RD

Got in EA in Dec. LSA. Applied preferred admit to Ross, but did not hear anything last week. Is it over for me, or is it in no order as they say?

@Gotin2023 it’s randomized
I have no quant. evidence to back this up, but they say so + results from my school point towards randomization

Has anybody Fromm Engineering (or non-LSA) student been admitted yet?
My schools’s had 9+ admits already, but I think they’re all LSA

in state?

It is hard to believe it is entirely random and that they would not want to first offer admission to their strongest candidates who might be considering other prestigious schools. Easier to believe that they want to see the trend for how many accept each wave to determine their yield and adjust in subsequent waves. That said current Ross students have indicated that they feel/hear there were far fewer admits in the first wave this year than last so who knows what is going on. This if the first year of the 100% preferred admission class so it may not be a science yet.

Son did not hear:

4.0 GPA at rigorous high school
11 APs 5 - 5s and 1 four so far
1590 SAT
OOS
2 legacy points
4 year varsity athlete
Senior Class Officer
Homecoming
School STAR Student
Community volunteer and other extracurriculars
Strong Common App Essay
Ross Portfolio - Not Sure - This is the wild card.

Luckily, if he does not get in, we have a wonderful option in Terry Business School at UGA which is free in-state, versus $71,000 a year for Ross out of state with no merit aid. Gulp.

How does UMich get up to $71,000/year? Are you including flights back and forth to GA? My student is LSA OOS and we’re nowhere near $71,000 all-in.

let’s not get on a tangent!

I have a question about tuition!

@GAMom160 and @sushiritto COA is approx $65,000 and $67,00 for last 2 years. PLEASE let us just comment on ROSS preferred admission.

@GAMom160 i agree that it is hard to believe it is random. I have a child with not only amazing test scores (perfect scores on ACT/Subject tests, etc), but all the rest of the package. Who knows? I did not hear of many getting in this round, so perhaps March is a bigger admit date?

It is total cost of attendance as reported by Ross and yes it includes SOME travel, etc.

$55,828 tuition, $15,310 housing, food, books, registration, personal expenses(travel)

I don’t think it is a tangent to discuss the cost of what we are hoping our kids get admitted to, especially since there isn’t likely to be much admission discussion until March 2nd.

I think you should be allowed to ask a question about tuition. G’head.
