has anybody’s status for their application data under the ross tab changed from early-action qualified to earl-action requested?

@GAMom160. Sorry everybody but I have to comment. If your child has a free ride to a good business program. No program including Ross is worth the approximate $300,000. Using business terms the ROI is not worth it. If this is spendable money for you why not set up a retirement or investment fund for him ;). He would be way ahead after graduation.

not sure what that means @bpase19

Sorry it is the tab under the ross admissions application data. Mine has said early action-requested since november 1 and i was wondering if anyone’s has changed to early action-qualified after they got into UM.

mine say the same for ross. the lsa tab says qualified

Almost totally agree with you. Michigan is both parents’ alma mater and he’s been brainwashed since he came home from the hospital in a Michigan onesie. We anticipated Michigan out of state expenses and saved accordingly. That said, his 529 can be reduced by the amount of his scholarships, taxes paid on earnings and used for other purposes. Or he can save it for grad school. He’s a pragmatic kid, but still wants to have good choices.

And no, I don’t think we can just stick to Ross preferred admissions for 23 more days. Yawn.

@Knowsstuff It’s only an incremental $12k total over LSA. Now ROI is not that bad given the resume weightage?

The way I read the UMich website:

LSA Freshman/Sophomore Tuition = $49,350
Ross BBA Freshman/Sophomore Tution = $49,856

Food & Housing is same for both schools = $11,534

Total LSA Tuition, Food & Housing = $60,884
Total Ross BBA Tuition, Food & Housing = $61,390

Upper Division is more $$ for both schools.

@Bizdock it was more tongue in cheek but she has a free option in Georgia so approx $70,000x 4=$280,000 and I rounded up to $300,000. Since people have to eat, new computers, car… Etc lol…

My daughter wanted to go to a more expensive option. We agreed if she didn’t we would pay off what we can. As a Junior she had no loans etc and seems to be very happy where she landed.

@sushiritto that is how I read it. I don’t know how we are all getting such different numbers.

@NewPoster123 Well, I know what I sent UMich for my kid’s freshman year and Ross can’t be $10,000 more than LSA.

Maybe a new thread about tuition?

shud I hit the commit button on LSA even thought I am waiting for Ross?

@Gotin2023. Why the hesitation? Will you not go to Michigan if you don’t go to Ross???

I am, just wasn’t sure if it has an effect on anything

Nope

@Gotin2023 you could. Thats exactly what i did nd i till got into Ross. Maybe they’ll like ur commitment and on the contrary prefer u, who knows.

@Gotin2023 Michigan/Ross loves their yield protect, so committing will not hurt
I don’t know enough to say if it will help

The second wave of decisions will come out tomorrow (Friday) at around 5pm EST by email. Good luck to everyone!
