I’m sure someone will comment that this kind of thread already exists, but all of our situations are unique so this thread could help someone. Yesterday I was accepted into the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. After graduating high school, it was inconceivable that I would get accepted into such a prestigious college.
My high school GPA was 2.2, and my ACT score was 16. I worked hard at my community college (located in Oklahoma), and ended up with a 3.82 college GPA. My essays focused on the homelessness I experienced, helping raise my four siblings and poverty I dealt with in college and high school.
I just want to say that it is NOT too late to get into a great college. There’s more than one route to success.
