University of Michigan Transfer- Winter 2020

It’s so weird because every counselor and transfer rep has a different answer

I just emailed my advisor and she said that I would hear back in late November to early December. Bruh. Turned in my app in August.

Guess it is not coming out till thanksgiving

Honestly, I don’t think our counselors know when we will hear back. With results being rolling. It could be from this Friday to Early December. Probably because this is the first year with enrollment connect. I don’t know that for sure, but my assumption.

I agree they dont know. someone here said their counselor said around halloween. Previous years show it starting around October 28 with some schools (kinesiology) later. I think they give as far a date as possible so they wont be inundated with calls. With that said, a early december date must be an outlier for some last minute acceptances maybe based on yield cause thats less than two weeks until orientation.

I can’t blame our counselors, implementing the enrollment connect has probably been just as stressful on them, as it has been on us. Hopefully people start to hear this Friday.

So my CoE adviser today said central admissions is reviewing app’s and he doesn’t know exactly when decisions will start coming out, but he suspects they’ll start sending out decisions within 2 weeks. That’s all I have. Last year when I called the office of admissions they always said late April and I heard back in early March, so I think the whole December day is absolutely the latest you’ll hear back.

Its just hard for all of us that it’s taking so long because I have to give up so many opportunities we have during the winter because we don’t know if we will be attending or not

I got so sad reading this thread considering many of you had to make huge sacrifices for umich :frowning: I genuinely hope everyone gets accepted so it will all be worth it until then good luck everyone

Quick question. I noticed that umich removed the Provost’s award. Do you think they will do something to replace that because if they don’t the least a outer state transfer student have to pay would no longer be 8.5k but 28k.

what do you mean they removed it?the financial aid website still shows it

Where did you heard that the provost award was removed?

I checked the net calculator and I asked the financial aid office. They said they will no longer give out the provost award but those who have received it before will continue receiving it.

Well all be, I just checked the net price calculator and it went up to $30k

and they’re not replacing it or increasing aid somewhere else?

I see if you type in all zeros on the npc it comes up with 28k net price. Whats going on?

the financial aid office said U-M will offer the provosts award for Fall 2019 and Winter 2020 entering students/transfers, but moving forward from Fall 2020 on, the provosts award will be done away with

Does anyone know if they’re planning on replacing it with something else? Or is UM just decreasing aid then?

No updates?

nothing new here. I would really like to think that’d we hear something soon. It just doesn’t much sense to me in terms of logistics. People have to move, book flights, find financing, etc as well as live their daily lives doing work or school work. It just really is getting down to the wire and I would think they’d have to know a handful of people who aren’t getting in or are? Idk. I love to give people the benefit of the doubt but the pressure is on forsure.
