I like how in previous years, threads for Winter transfer had only 14 pages. We have 14 pages already, but no one has gotten their decision on Enrollment Connect yet.
Mine is Katrina Moseley
They say it takes 6-8 weeks to hear back and it has been 7 weeks for me. Hope I hear back soon (and we all do)
Nothing today smh. I emailed my advisor and I’ll see what he has to say. I actually need to know when people start hearing back cause I wanna sublet my place and it’s hard to find people if no-one has heard back
I think it starts from when you received the confirmation email not when you submitted the application. Because it has been more than two months since I turned in my app
Assuming most of us got ours on 10/2 (it was when I got mine), this is only the 4th week.
I’m starting to get anxious… the other schools that I applied to have an enrollment deadline for 10/31. Not sure what to do if Michigan decisions are not released by then… sos
It sucks, the good news is you are not alone. Today, I had to throw away my chance to work in a prestigious lab during Winter term (and the rest of my years here in this college) because my admissions counselor basically said the decision is not coming out until later. I applied mid-August; I thought the decision would come out earlier that way so I have the chance to obtain the best outcome no matter what.
You should probably make a decision now whether to wait for Michigan, just in case they didn’t release your decision before your other deadline. I would also compare your stats with those who got accepted in previous years, and keep in mind that transfer acceptance rate was 44% last year.
We all will have to compromise sometimes. And try not to regret one way or another.
i got my confirmation email on september 20th (5 weeks ago) and i rolled over my application
I have had my app in since valentine’s day since I rolled it over, I got my email saying they received my app on the 20th of september, this puts me at 6 weeks exactly this friday… anyone wanna chance me lol, I don’t think i’ve done it yet on this thread;
-at msu with a -3.685 deans list x2 (will be at a 3.7 at time i’d transfer
-complete transferrable credits with AP’s and with my current 12 in progress- 52
-hs stats: 1170 sat and 3.6 gpa
-lots of involvement on msu’s campus (PreMed club, development lab job, etc.)
-good essays
-LOR from college professor, HS counselor, ap psych teacher
-in-state
I hope you guys got accepted soon. All the waiting in rolling over seems like a lot of stress.
Hey guys, current UofM student here. When you get accepted, if you want a dorm on central campus (East Quad), let me know and I can send pics or even show you around in person if you’re close. They will offer you dorms probably in Northwood, which are not ideal. I’m trying to move off campus for the winter term, so somebody can take my room. Dudes only, cause I have a male roommate.
back in january when i got my fall admission, i got it on a wednesday
@lltelliot why is northwood not ideal? I was actually doing research on the apartment and dorms for UM and the housing website says they recommend northwood for transfer students. If we get accepted, do you recommend that we live in the dorms rather than the apartment?
What do you guys think about accepting other offers from schools while waiting for Michigan’s decision? I have a co-worker who transferred schools when she was an undergrad and accepted one while she waited for the other, and ended up attending the school who sent out decisions later. She said there was a few weeks between when the two school’s semesters started so she ended up just dropping the other school. Is this a good idea?
@leejackie99 The Northwood III rooms (where they typically send transfer students) are on north campus, so it’s not too far from some of the college of engineering’s classes, but it is a bus ride away from central campus, where most of the undergrad dorms, classes, and general life are. They also try to put all the transfer students in Northwood, so you’ll be around people in the same situation as you, but it’s arguably not enough to outweigh the geographic isolation of north campus. Either way, the Northwood III rooms are certainly not the traditional dorm experience, if that’s something you want. (plus, not that it matters too much, but the Northwood rooms do not have thermostats, so they’ll get stuffy in the winter. East Quad rooms do!)
Take my words with a grain of salt, because you could end up totally happy at Northwood. But the stereotype is that it’s an isolated place where it could be harder to socialize. Feel free to message me if you want more info. I also know that the UofM subreddit has some good insight to offer about Northwood.
Just to add… My son lives at Northwood 3 for 2 years now. He lived on central campus his first year. He actually enjoys Northwood 3. It is very quite and lots of nature. He sees deer on his way to classes some days. It has a more suburban feel then urban for central. All his classes and activities /work are on north campus. He walks 10 minutes to classes. (engineering).
I emailed my advisor yesterday and she said the decision will be out by mid-November
i got accepted to msu for psych this morning lol i haaate waiting for umich
MID NOVEMBER. WHAT. Rip.
