Has anyone deferred received any updates from University of Michigan lately? I am LSA deferred
My daughter heard back two weeks ago that she was accepted to LSA.
Did you received an email or you checked it by portal?
@EchoooXu It does not matter. The email usually follow the portal update within hours.
Both.
I was deferred from LSA but applied for business major (have to get into LSA first). A girl at my school heard back about a week ago from Michigan but applied RD.
@boxerluvr I was deferred from LSA as well - still have not heard back. Some kids in my school heard back early on and there is a handful left that have heard nothing.
Lost all hope for UM, was really hoping for an offer - D applied in November, heard nothing ever since. Good student Mid 1500 SATs, Good ECs. Solid Aps,
WL at Chicago etc
Almost everyone is WL at Chicago - has nothing to do with whether UM will accept your D. UM isn’t done accepting yet - just be patient.
was you applying through ED/EA or RD? I see no update in my portal.
@sebound2022, are all those heard back from MU either accepted or deferred? if I have not hear anything, does that mean I’m rejected?
@LW - I was deferred EA so not optimistic at this point. All that heard back were accepted after being deferred. I do not know anyone who was actually denied from Michigan
Why? Lots of schools have not notified their applicants yet. Do you think that they are not going to accept any more students? Why do you think that? Your child’s stats are irrelevant to the timing of her decision.
@brantly I understand that every student at D’s school could be wrong/misinformed), has received some form of response - acceptance / deferral / rejection. My understanding is D is the only student still waiting…that, and I’ve been spending too much time here, LOL!
@momo2x2018 you are not the only one. Many Others and myself are still waiting to hear back from Michigan
Add me to the waiting list and I am a cross campus transfer!
@momo2x2018 If University of Michigan is her first choice, please be sure to have the GC contact the admissions office to tell them that. The GC should make it clear that your daughter will enroll if accepted. With her scores, they could be thinking that UM is a safety and that she will not enroll.
Mid 1500 is just around the 75%, not likely to be assume considering UMich as safety.
I was responding to brantly’s comment. Mid 1500 SAT is a very good score but the adcon would not see it as very out standing that the student may consider UMich as a safety. Indeed, no one can claim UMich as safety particularly from OOS.
