We all know both are highly known for their engineering. However, which program is really the best? At the University of Michigan, tuition is only 26,000 a year; Master's degrees are offered in it, so one could start taking classes their senior year? At Rose-Hulman, they're focused highly on undergraduate education; however, no graduate level is offered. Things to consider: Better job payouts, better hiring, quality of education, etc.

Which school would you say is the better choice?

Hands down… go to Michigan. Trust me, the quality of education is far, far higher at Michigan. I have some exposure to both (I went to Michigan and knew a lot of engineering students there, and one of my kids attended a summer program at Rose-Hulman). It is not close… if you can get into Michigan, go there. Don’t worry at all about the grad program, your hands will be full with undergrad engineering at Michigan. Michigan job prospects are terrific for engineers, and they have a much larger pool of alumni to network with as well.

Thanks haha, this isn’t for me though, but I was trying to prove a point to someone lol

What sort of engineering did you do

I was not an engineering major. But I lived in a house with a bunch of aerospace majors, and they were just crazy smart. Among the smartest people I have ever known. Honestly, there are a lot of smart people at Michigan in all majors, but engineering is a particularly bright group. Another benefit Michigan has over Rose-Hulman is a much more diverse group of people with all the different majors on campus – Rose-Hulman is a much more homogeneous student body.
