Rutgers HC accepts 500 students from a class of about 8,400. I’m in-state for Rutgers and it’s a lot cheaper, but are the two programs comparable in terms of prestige?

The two programs are not comparable in terms of prestige, but paying significantly more for prestige is never worth it unless your parents can easily afford to difference in the cost of attendance. Besides, Rutgers is a very well regarded university anyway.
