The article seems to imply the class size may be complete. However, the situation is still evolving. Colleges may need to go deeper into the waitlist depending on what the fall semester ultimately looks like (i.e., in-person v. online).
You can click “reader view” and basically view the article for free but it doesn’t really tell us anything we don’t know…even if UMich was planning a big wave they likely wouldn’t openly disclose that simply because uncertainty never benefits a uni…just wait it out but yeah go through the article if you want
I just withdrew my place on LSA waitlist. good luck to y’all.
@UCLAParent123 , enjoy NY!
@UCLAParent123 appreciate you! Good luck in the big city!
This is not over. Article after article has said that approximately 20% of students who paid a deposit - might still not attend - shaky financial situations and online classes. I think the offers now will not be waves, but trickling in.
If you are out of state and paying the full fare - your chances are good, but I am sure they will also take other things into consideration. A lot will depend on how desperate they get. I wouldn’t be surprised if movement is taking place up to after registration.
Really hope thats true
So probably not today?
My guess is sometime next week hopefully
My guess is next week- late Monday/Tuesday or after.
I would still take UM over NYU if my son can get off next week.
Got off waitlist this week and so did someone from my school. Pretty sure they are done. OOS LSA
what
he might have got off or he might have not. he could be a ■■■■■. Just let it roll out since nobody has said anything else on reddit or anywhere about getting accepted this week- also very rare for 2 people in the same school to get off waitlist from the same school OOS.
idk why it starred my message I literally said he could be t-r-o-l-l-i-n-g.
My daughter speaks to her AO- meaning she actually calls back/answers her emails. The AO told her that they will take students off the waitlist up until mid-june. I dont know what the significance of mid-june is.
We need a lot of financial aid so i dont think she will get off the waitlist in a year like this year - but the AO did not say this latter part.
@daphneheslop what latter part? Also, try to get your daughter to talk to her AO in a few days and get the inside details lol
I think mid-June is probably just a generic reply. They might have finished with their class already for all we know :’(
It gets picked up for that. It’s in the TOS /rules somewhere at the bottom of the page
.
You asked
LOL…
Give it within 2 weeks to see if there is some movement from the wait list
It’s a strange year so just about anything could happen.
But… You all “might” want to start getting excited where you will be currently heading. If you get a surprise email then great. I am sure your all going somewhere amazing. Good Luck!
The last few years they took some kids up until that time. Kids drop off during the summer months for various reasons. But again. It’s like a trickle not a lot of kids. But… It does happen.
