University of Michigan Winter 2021 Transfer Thread

Alright, this is my second shot at transferring to LSA, so I’m super nervous and want to hear some thoughts on my chances. I submitted my application a little more than a week ago.

My high school stuff was alright, but the SAT and ACT scores were not phenomenal. I currently attend Grand Valley State University.

College Stats:

GPA: 3.9

Major/Minor: History and French

Transferable Credit: 47-49 points with 13 more coming after fall semester(some classes are unclear on transferability)

LoRs: I have three letters of recommendation, from a French prof, a History prof, and an Anthropology/Evolutionary science prof respectively.

ECs: I participate in my university’s French club as well as being the current president of GVSU History club.

I also think my essays were pretty good so I don’t think I am worried about that. My grandmother also attended UMich for a year, if that counts for anything.

admitted LSA 9/24!

When did you submit your application?

Congrats to all Admitted. Go Blue!!

If anyone who has been accepted into Umich or is going to Umich wants to judge my credentials on the previous page and give me an estimate on acceptance, I would greatly appreciate it!

@MCollegeTransfer It’s my second time applying. I updated my term and sent an email to my counselor with my past and current classes on May 4th. I submitted my updated transcript on 9/18 and got an email the following week about being admitted.

My stats were very similar to yours! I think you have a great chance of getting in! Good luck!!

@liliwww16 Thank you! I also just got admitted right after you said that!

Accepted today to LSA

Congrats!! Were you guys submitted at the end of August?
I submitted on Sept.4th and just try to figure out when should I expect the decision.

@Claraluo I only submitted my application about 2 weeks ago and was already admitted today. I am not sure why exactly they seem to be going to fast this time around.

Second time around, I just submitted my App here’s hoping it goes well.

Does anyone know if COVID is positively or negatively impacting the acceptance rate for transfers? I’ve heard that universities are generally taking more students but I’m not sure if that’s true.

Got admitted to LSA - CS today, 12 hours ago!
This is the first time I applied as a transfer to U of M from MSU.
I submitted my application on Sep.20 and got admitted right after the deadline.
I guess COVID-19 really has some impact to their admission process lol

I guess positively. Because they are processing our application faster than normal winter transfer times.

How fast do you get your portals? It’s been almost a week now and I might be overthinking but the website did say that we should get portals within three days…

Hi, I was just curious how fast you got your portal! That was a really quick turnaround for admission

Seeing everyone getting their results back so quickly is making me so nervous! I submitted my app on the deadline with the expectation I’d be waiting 6-8 weeks. To know it could come in a week is crazy. I wonder if Covid is going to cause the acceptance rate to go up?

I submitted my application on September 14 and got my portal on September 28. But it probably won’t take as long now that its past the deadline

Like I submitted my application on Sep 24. I received my portal on Sep 28, and admitted on Oct.1 to LSA CS

Admitted on 10/6 to LSA
