<p>In my search for a college to pursue studies in Biology, I am drawn to the usual bests because I do have a good High School Record (grades, scores, activities), such as Wash U and U of Chicago, which will hopefully lead me to medical school. I am a Minnesota resident, and keep hearing news about the U of M's College of Biological sciences...how they are spending a couple hundred MILLION dollars on a new facility and are teaming up with the Mayo Clinic (the price difference for me between the U of M and the others is also VAST). When I read the stats and synopses of the University of Minnesota, I am deterred by the large undergraduate population and, even though it is a good school, it isn't as good as other schools where I would like to go. I read though, from the U of M's CBS website, that the CBS students have separate dorms (I think just for the honors students) and a slightly different curriculum which is geared towards one of the 7 (I think) majors offered. Also, on the U of M's main website, it shows what the average statistics are like for the students in the different colleges, and the CBS trumps them all with an average High School ranking being in the 90s, where I would fit in. So, what I am wondering, is how good, comparatively, is the University of Minnesota College of Biological sciences as a separate college, and if anyone has an experience with the school.</p>
