Looks like we'll have to do a little more waiting!

Anyone else really sad about being waitlisted? :(

@readmypost I’m a bit bummed out. This school was honestly one of my top choices, and I thought I had a decent shot. But a waitlist is better than a rejection…

I don’t think they accepted anyone from the waitlist last year so…is it basically a rejection?

I understand your disappointment. Move on. Find a new #1 school and go for it. There are many great universities. It something opens up at ND, then you can reconsider.

Does anyone have any advice or suggestions on further conveying interest in ND? I don’t want to be a nuisance to my admissions representative.

I waitlist-ees! Never fear, I was in your shoes just two years ago and now I’m sitting my dorm at ND. The waitlist is not the end of your journey, just a chance for you to prove how much you really want to go to Notre Dame! :)

I have 3 pieces of advice.
- If there is anyway possible to go visit your admissions counselor, go do that! Meeting them face to face is the most powerful way you can guarantee they will remember you.
- Do something unique (but not weird or creepy) to show them what ND means to you, what you can bring to the school, ect
- Be obnoxious! Don’t worry about being a nuisance, you want them to know your name. A person will walk into your admission counselor’s office and ask them for names of students. You want them to remember you name. Call, send mail, send e-mail- and then repeat, as often as possible

If you guys have any questions about waitlist help, feel free to ask. Since they didn’t take anyone off it last year, they usually account for this and will accept less students to make sure that some waitlistees get off (that’s what they did my year since no one had gotten off the year before), so you have a real chance to get in if you use! Good luck! You can do this! :D

I lost hope… Okay, that’s being dramatic. But the letter, I believe, said 800 people were waitlisted. And in past years, anywhere from 0 to 100 people made it from the list. Also, I may have misread the letter, but I believe it states the list is not in any order (maybe there is order and it’s kept private?). So how would they pick the people from the waitlist?
