I'm stuck between University of Oregon and University of British Columbia Vancouver. I have visited both campuses and love them all. I am currently going undecided in the Arts & Sciences departments. Both tuitions are about the same since I am a California resident. I really like the student life and whole vibe at UO but UBC has better academics and the city is overall nicer. Does anyone have any advice on where to go? Or what school has a better reputation? I also got into Cal Poly SLO, USF, LMU, NYU, UCSB, and UCSC but I think I want to go to the pacific northwest at this point. Thank you for your time and help! :)

Wow, you have yourself a pretty nice list of colleges to choose from! Overall I would think that University of Oregon would serve what you want better. It’s very spirited and the academics are top notch as well. The football games bring so much Duck pride and the campus is just gorgeous ! Being an out of state student while more expensive will let you bring back a whole new perspective when you come back to California. I think it all depends on what you’re looking for, if a traditional college experience is what you want in my opinion University of Oregon will give you that :), but if you want something different and want a global education while exploring Canada and possibly staying in Canada then UBC is your school. You have a tough but exciting choice to make Goodluck !

You summarized things well: UBC is known worldwide and Vancouver is amazing; UO as sports and a more campus-centered feel.
You can’t really choose wrong… Have you been able to spend a day there, or do an overnight at each?
