University of Pennsylvania Application Holes

Hi there! I am currently a 9th grader and hope to be attending Wharton as an undergrad in 4 years. If you are a student at UPenn or have some knowledge about applying, please share! I am simply curious to know what my future application lacks and if I have a strong chance of acceptance.

Here are my stats:
4.0 GPA (this I obviously plan to maintain and will be taking mostly APs in the next few years)
Have begun studying for SAT with a goal of 2200

Extracurriculars:
• My main passion is community service. I went to Haiti last year and have begun to develop a project from that experience. I have begun learning Haitian Creole and plan to have a picture book published in Creole by senior year. I have a strong love of literature and writing. Because books are such a rarity in Haiti, especially the mountainous villages, I would like to create a program with the organization I work with that allows children to have books (hopefully the one I publish).
• I also have created a community service club at my school.
• I sing in the nationally ranked choir in my school.
• I am a member of the school newspaper and have a goal of becoming EIC in the next few years.
• In addition to newspaper, I have a small column in the local newspaper and have begun writing for a literary journal.
• I also am a member of the Spanish Club.
• Run a website for teenagers.
• I have also won an essay contest and will enter more in the future.
• Member of the Model UN
• Tutor children after school
• Plan to join NHS
• I would also like to take part in the University of Pennsylvania Leadership in the Business World summer program and have a business internship in the future.

Please let me know what you think! Thank you.

Does anybody have a few suggestions or an idea of my chance of getting in? Anything would be of great help!

You’re definitely a bit far out to be thinking specifically about getting into Penn. In general, it’s not too far out to be starting the things you’re doing, but as far as Penn-specific information…Nothing much will help this far out. Pick a category to focus on. People say pick 1 activity as your passion. I say that’s too small. Pick “volunteering,” “music,” etc.
