[/ul]General Comments:
i think the admissions process was very fair to me and i’m so thankful!

for upper-target/reach schools, let loose with your essays. for penn, mine was about how i suck at dancing and that i throw myself onto my bed and scream into my pillow like a three-year old when i’m frustrated. that being said, you still have to market yourself well.

congratulations and good luck to everyone! and thanks to everyone on CC for all their help.

ACCEPTED!! Will post later. Debating between Penn, Dartmouth, Brown, Cal, and Vanderbilt. But leaning towards Penn!!

Teacher Recommendation: Awesome
Counselor Rec: Strong
Additional Recs:One Really good from a Robotics Mentor in the Industry
Interview: Fine

Applied for Financial Aid?: Yes
Intended Major: Systems Engineering / Business Analysis - Manufacturing
State (if domestic applicant): WA
School Type: Public - US News Silver. They don’t allow students to take APs til junior year and it really hurts when applying for the best.
Ethnicity: White
Gender: Male
Income Bracket: $125K
Hooks (URM, first generation college, etc.): None

Strengths: GPA and most rigorous load at solid HS during most competitive class in decades
Weaknesses: Listened too much about “do what you are passionate about” rather than starting to read CC 4 years earlier and see what those who got in did. My HS is really artsy and liberal arts, so no exposure to any science or engineering clubs, science competitions, etc. Live on an Island and didn’t realize how important it is to do research no matter what whereever you can get to. I probably needed another 50 points on the SATs too. I didn’t play the sports game with the Penn Golf Coach as I figured I didn’t have time to play at Penn pursuing two majors.

Why you think you were accepted/deferred/denied: Just nothing that blows everyone away.

Stanford: Rejected
M&T: Rejected
Michigan: Accepted Engineering and Ross Business School Preferred
