@balletgirl17 they’ll have a very very small impact on our decision
Good because my interviewer was so disinterested
Was it necessary to fill out that Penn financial aid thing? I think I had indicated that I would be pursuing financial aid on common app, but never filled that thing out. So if I didn’t get that letter people have been talking about, am I basically rejected? It’s not like I was expecting anything else tbh tho
@njk1999 mine too!!!
Did anyone else get an email from Penn saying that decisions will be out next week Thursday?
I did
@kk1235 what financial aid thing? The Penn financial aid supplement at the login page of the portal?
@Jujuondatbeat Yessss was that something I was supposed to do even tho I submitted FAFSA?
@kk1235 I received the letter in the mail specifically to complete the Penn Financial Aid Supplement in the portal because I thought you didn’t have to do it if you submitted FAFSA as well. The PFAS is the only thing I did not complete and I received the letter postmarked the 16th. Not sure what it means for admissions but after calling and speaking with the finaid office, it sounds very much like I have been tagged as an “incoming student.” I was also told to “submit forms as quickly as possible to receive my finaid packet in order to make a decision” whatever that means. Trying not to read too deeply into it, though I am cautiously optimistic that the letter is a good sign. However, do not take it as an indicator of your admissions. I am not accepted to Penn until that letter is in front of me March 31, just like you are not rejected. You never can tell with these things!
@nerdbregade when did you receive the letter and what part of the US are you from?
@nerdbregade first of all that’s awesome… and secondly thank u for the kind words!!!
I completely missed the PFAS on the penn portal. Never got an email or notification to complete this after submitting. Does this screw me over for admissions or does this just screw me over for aid, independent of admissions chances.
Those of you who got the letter, which portions of the fin-aid app were you missing/requested to send in?
@Axlevision22 I received the letter either the 18th or the 20th, can’t remember which, and I am in GA. @kk1235 @Nk1022 people are speculating that receiving this letter is an indicator of your admissions status (why would they build you a finaid package so late if you weren’t admitted?) BUT the key word there is speculating! None of us will really know what it means until March 31, so don’t fret at all. If you know you have incomplete finaid docs though, I would send them in anyway so you can get your finaid package asap.
@blessedaf I don’t think the portion has anything to do with it, I needed to do PFAS and send in my student tax returns, two separate portions. I also have a friend who has sent in nothing for finaid other than saying she intended to apply on Common App and she did not receive a letter or email about completing aid.
My D also received the letter. When my D was deferred, nothing was requested from the financial office.
@winwin111 what do you mean by you received a letter from the financial aid office, but nothing was requested? The letter we are talking about from financial aid asked us all for missing documents.
@stessedsenior99 We received the letter asking for missing documents from the financial office. When my D was deferred, missing documents were not requested.
@winwin111 O ok I think I understand. Before she was deferred you received the letter, but you then submitted all the documents around December and have not received another letter from financial aid?
@stressedout99 my D only received letter asking for missing documents on 3/16 only. So basically what I’m saying is that it’s a good sign!
