University of Pennsylvania RD Class of 2021

I submitted the PFAS, and then in the beginning of February I uploaded the tax forms and W2. I never received an email to do so, but it was in their to do list, so I did it anyway.

For those of you who got an email for missing documents: did they mention anything other than these two things? Penn doesn’t have a financial aid status list unlike other unis so I’m not sure if all my docs have been received.

@samc24 CSS Profile and/or FAFSA might have been required? It felt like they required a lot and I was always unsure of what was needed bc I felt like a lot of it was redundant

@ptolemycleopatra ye I submitted the FAFSA and CSS well before that.
My bad, should have mentioned it.
Anything else you were asked for?
And is there any way to see which docs they already have?

I just wanna make sure everything is submitted so if I actually do get accepted (lol), I’ll get my FA package without any delays.

Same here I received the same letter on the 20th and postmarked the 16th, but I was deferred and never got this mail until just now.

@samc24 I think that was it. I don’t know of any way to see what has been submitted successfully or not besides emailing the financial aid office directly.

Hmm… Then maybe since I haven’t received the missing documents email, I’ve submitted everything I need to!

That seems like such an obvious statement lmao
(if anyone has already submitted the things I mentioned but still had to submit more, please lemme know.)

I have missing FA documents (screwed up something for all my colleges) and I have not received any notification of that. Suffice it to say I’m a reject…

Hi guys, does anyone have Not gotten below e-mail from Penn on March 21? (you may check your inbox and SPAM emails). Please do a favor and tell us. Thanks!

Dear xxx

We will post admissions decisions on Thursday, March 30, 2017 at 5:00 p.m. E.D.T. Your decision can be viewed by visiting the Penn Applicant Portal.

We have enjoyed getting to know you through this process.

Sincerely,

Penn Admissions

@luck2017 it’s a standard email sent to everyone.

I also received the financial aid letter, and it makes logical sense that such correspondence indicates a decision that is at the very least a waitlist. Why would the financial aid services be grinding out packages this late in the application season for everyone when there are over 40,000 applicants, of which at least 1/2 are requesting financial aid? Also in the letter it says “[…] include your full name and class year (2021)”, and I think that is a clear indication that each person who received that letter is likely to be admitted.

@frenchtikimaster that paired with the same positive trend between acceptance and receiving the letter in past years makes me believe the same. Very hopeful that Penn is going to be a yes…though staying cautious…don’t want to be devastated come March 31…

@nerdbregade yah same, id be very surprised if I get into Wharton as I spent HS dangling around in politics lulz

But just to speculate, what do you guys think: UChicago Econ v.s. Wharton?

@frenchtikimaster what kind of letter you got from finance aid office - missing documents requirements or greetings? Thanks!

missing documents

I’m in the exact same situation. This is really troubling me and I literally check my email/mailbox everyday for a notification letter. It would make sense that no notification means rejection because why would they go to the trouble of building an aid packet if you definitely won’t be attending. :frowning: @PeregrineFlute

@hopelessopus12 I want to restate something I have posted before…It is a financial aid document, not a likely letter or anything that speaks to admissions. So with that, anyone who has this letter is not accepted to Penn until March 31 (if they are) just like you are not rejected until then. Not to mean that I think you will be based on this, but simply saying, the admission letters are not on our screens in front of us right now. We are all stressed and speculating, and that means nothing! Do not take this as an indicator of anything. We only have a week to wait, so breathe and know that you will end up at the college you are supposed to be at, and here’s hoping for all of us that it’s Penn!

@frenchtikimaster Wharton Wharton Wharton all day long…Uchi is great, though definitely more research oriented, whereas penn is SO business/Econ oriented. Fun fact: Wharton has the highest number of graduate business millionaires than any other school in the world…just a thought

@frenchtikimaster thank you for the info. I got notification email, and my finance documentation was complete.

I am an international application. I did not apply fin aid, and I never received the financial notification email you guys were discussing. Does it mean I’m likely rejected? This is very sad.

@webuyourselves if you didn’t apply, you wouldn’t have gotten a notification. Nothing to worry about.

Me too.
