@skieurope, may I ask why UPenn or any school would send out likely letters to non-athletic recruits? I don’t see the purpose.
Generally this is done as a form of recruitment in order to make the applicant feel special so that the applicant will give increased consideration to that school before s/he makes a final determination on which college to attend.
had my interview… it was only 30 mins long but my interviewer didn’t have many questions
@skieurope @gingerspark99 Actually, Penn sends likely letters in two shifts - 200 in mid-Feb and 200 in early March.
I really enjoyed my interview. The interviewer was really awesome. It lasted about 30-35 mins…
Should I be worried that I haven’t been contacted yet?
@bwalts61 Nope, interviews don’t count for much in the decision process. It’s based on how many Penn alumni are available in your area
@bwalts61 my daughter was never contacted by Penn but she did hear from Duke and Cornell for interviews.
Not sure if that means she’s denied or not but she’s going to UF now anyway. Good luck!
@kslinky Congrats to your daughter on making her decision!! Must be a relief! UF is a great school she will love it I’m sure. It has so much to offer.
Has any non-athlete received a likely letter yet?
did not receive likely letter, but did receive a likely “card” from other school my daughter applied. Nonetheless, felt nice to receive something like this
Has Penn released a decision date yet? The wait on colleges has dragged by very slowly especially since I have only heard from Northeastern and still have 10 schools that I am waiting on. Any info will be greatly appreciated. Thank you!
Ivy day is March 30.
@Testingearly , so every ivy releases the 30th. Is it all at the same time? Ay dios mio thats so far away!
@jhosk10 “ay dios mio” my thoughts exactly
Are likely letters physical mails or just emails?
Hey guys my recommender received an email from Penn asking for my teachers’ comments on my performance in the class this year. Did any of you also receive this? And what do you think this indicates? Thank you!
@Murrre I think it means they are seriously considering you. It isn’t a common request; did your class grade increase or decrease? They must have had a reason to ask.
I really want to get into Penn but they’ve already accepted 3 people from my school this year ED sigh
I just committed to University of Maryland (UMD). Good luck to everyone here! Hope you all get into your top schools and become significant figures later on in life! UMD Class of 2021 here I come!!!
