@kwtgtc. The mobile app changed Friday and the email came today.
My daughter applied 8/4 and still no word. In the app, just says no pending applications at this time. When I check the pitt portal, check application status, it says application complete. Then it has her name, Swanson school, fall term 2018-2019, undergraduate and my app number?
Does this mean anything? Or does that mean that’s what she applied for??? Boy, this is nail biting isn’t it? Thanks in advance. And big congrats to all your acceptances.
@netchick - I was in your shoes last week - but I am still biting my nails waiting for the official email/letter! My son applied at the very end of August and the buttons just changed. It is the app that changes with the accept and decline buttons. What you are describing in the pitt portal does not change. In the app the “no pending application” will disappear and the accept/decline buttons will appear in its place.
@pghgrl that’s awesome, congrats to your D!
@netchick you need to check the Peoplesoft Mobile App and see if there are separate accept and decline buttons. Once my D had those, she received the acceptance email 2 business days later.
Yes, I did download the app and nothing yet. We did get the ID last week. I’m drawing at straws. Lol I am so happy for your good news. @CandJ1031 congrats also.
Has any student received information regarding the guaranteed admissions into a professional programs? My daughter received her acceptance video, but has not yet received her written acceptance letter. We saw no indication of the professional program (pharmacy) in the mobile application.
My D recv’d her email video today
So exciting !!! She applied 8/13 to the nursing program
We are oos (VA)
@m2msoccer I applied to the School of Nursing.
@fall2018 I also received my acceptance to the nursing program today and I applied on 8/13 as well! I’m OOS (DE)
@fall2018 Hi there! I was also recently accepted into the School of Nursing as well! I’ve been noticing that there are very many intended Pitt nursing majors on these College Confidential forums. What a funny coincidence
Congratulations to your daughter! I am OOS as well. I’m from the west coast.
Wow, a lot of future nurses on here! Congratulations everyone!
Congratulations every one. Any acceptances for applications on or after 8/31? The application when to complete status on 9/7 . I am patiently waiting to hear something for my D.
@RelocatedYankee, Congrats to your daughter on her Pitt admission! She will hear about whether she is eligible for the Pharmacy Guarantee separately. For most guarantees, the letter follows an admissions letter by a few weeks.
Best,
A Pitt Admissions Staffer
@hailtopitt1787 Thank you for your prompt response! My daughter is delighted to have been admitted and appreciates your timely feedback!
I haven’t applied yet, but I plan to within the next two weeks. Does this put me at a big disadvantage? I only recently added UPitt to my list of colleges. D:
@EmZoWe I don’t think it puts you at a disadvantage. It’s still super early in the application process
@Hopetobeapittmom Did you receive notice from the school that they are waiting for another sat score or no?
@olivbr026- No We didn’t. I spoke with Admissions the other day because I had a question and they said no additional info has been requested as of yet. They did let me know that based on his SAT scores, he would likely be declined into the School of Business Admin. His math was lower than they require. Luckily, he is still at the early stage that we can change the “college” he was applying to and based on their recommendation, move him to Arts and Sciences. I am very thankful for the wonderful help Pitt Admissions has provided us and that they are able to guide us through this process. We told him if he is accepted, after 1 yr and 1 semester when he generates a solid GPA, he can transfer to the School of Business. His stats are not bad:
1180 SAT (Little low, we will have him take them again 10/7)
5.21 Weighted GPA
AP/Honors/Dual Enrollment
In state
2 Pitt Legacy Parents (Hoping that will help
So, we are hoping that this is good enough. Who Knows. We will patiently wait but told him he needs a back up plan if he’s not accepted and he said Penn State. Told him NO! pick another lol
@Hopetobeapittmom thank you for the info! Right after I sent the comment I decided to check the app and the accept/decline buttons appeared (hoping that means something) ! Thank you for the help!! btw here are my stats:
