University of Pittsburgh Class of 2022

@kwtgtc First, once you get your logon credentials from Pitt, download the mobile app. On the main page, there is an icon in the upper left “My Academics” then logon with your credentials. You will see a dashboard. Click on “Admissions” and then from the drop down menu, click on “Accept/Decline Admissions” At first, the screen read something like “Nothing under review” then a few days later it changed to a page that listed the particularly school I applied to (engineering) and two click box options “accept” or “decline”. I haven’t received an official acceptance from the school, but if you look through this thread, other people reported receiving acceptances shortly after these click boxes appeared on their mobile app. Hope that makes sense.

@hailtopitt1787, It has been 5 weeks since my D application was marked as complete and no news yet except the e-mail she received with Pitt ID last week. This ID is the same as the one she got from your IT office when she submitted her application back in August. Shouldn’t she hear by now either way?

@finnb my buttons changed too. Am I supposed to press accept?

@kwtgtc, don’t click anything just yet!! Wait for your official acceptance, merit offer, financial aid offer, etc. You are basically seeing Accept and Decline buttons because you will shortly be accepted to Pitt, and accepting means you will be attending there!

@Sgmom17 I applied on August 13th and I have not heard anything other than the Pitt ID I received last week. In another thread, I saw that somebody who applied September 4th got an acceptance letter yesterday. So the decisions seem to be coming at random almost.

@sgmom17 and @alliestaman22, You should hear from us soon. In the beginning of the admissions process (September-early October) decisions come a little slower and seem a little more random in the order they come out because we are working through the first influx of applications that starts coming in in July/August. We typically aim for 3-4 weeks, but it is not uncommon for applicants to wait longer during this time of year.

Best of luck to you both!

yay, so happy that my D received her email confirmation of acceptance today! Both of our kids will be at Pitt, woo hoo! So, @hailtopitt1787 , if the mobile app says Dietrich School then she for sure got main campus right?

Buttons appeared today!!! Fingers crossed for an email on Thursday!!

@m2msoccer, Yes, the Dietrich School is at the Pittsburgh Campus.

@m2msoccer Congrats to your daughter! I also received my acceptance email today!

@ash336 Great news! When did you apply and do you mind giving your stats?

@pct3 D applied 8/3 4.7 W 1220 SAT (was a little worried about that!). We are in state. Dietrich A&S

Thanks @hailtopitt1787 ! Sorry, I think I worded my question poorly. My D applied to Dietrich but I know sometimes students can be accepted to branch campuses. If she got the email acceptance today, should we assume it’s for her first choice Dietrich? Hope that made more sense!

@alliestaman22 congratulations, that’s great! Which school did you apply to?

@m2msoccer, Yes, she can assume it is for her first choice. If she was accepted to a regional campus, we would send her a letter rather than the acceptance video email. Hope that helps clarify!

I am having trouble deciding if I should send my better SAT score or both of them. There is a 100 point difference between my first and second score. So would it be beneficial to send both to demonstrate improvement? Or just my better score? Thanks!

We superscore the SAT, so we’d encourage you to send both. @xi8a4go

@m2msoccer Awesome news! My D got her video email today as well. Now we are official

Is it frowned upon by admissions counselors to send teacher letter of recommendations to Pitt when applying? I am having a teacher write me recommendations for all the colleges I’m applying to and am not sure if I should tell them to not send one to Pitt.

How long did it take for the email to arrive after the buttons changed?
