can anyone say what their e-mail said? We received an e-mail that said they’ve completed the review and that the admissions status will be mailed to us but had a “If you can’t wait, click on the, find out now link”. Maddeningly, the link was corrupt and we can’t fnd out now. Is this similar to acceptance or rejection e-mails?
Yes, to an acceptance, @Kajaet !! The link starts a personalized video about Pitt and Pittsburgh!!
Thanks So much @Winky1 . So excited !
When I applied to Pitt, I wanted to major in information science and on the website it says that Pitt offers it. But when I filled out my application it was not on the list? Can anyone tell me why this is. I chose computer science because I thought it would be the closest to it in case I could switch.
@chasegriff, pct3, great news. Do you mind sharing stats and major applied for
I got an email today about setting up financial aid. However, I haven’t heard anything about my application status and I got confirmation on 9/15 that my application was received. Does every applicant receive this email regardless of the status of their application?
@judyvegas My S has a 3.5 unweighted gpa and 1260 SAT. He attends a rigorous high school and has strong ECs. He submitted all 3 short answers. He originally applied to CBA on 8/31 but sent an email to change to Dietrich 9/19. He is undecided on his major. Good luck!
@mistacube my son also got the same email that you are referencing. He was admitted last week.
pct3…thank you. My son has a 3.2 uw and 4.0w 1270 sat applied undecided 8/23.He took honors and AP classes. He is still waiting but feel he is borderline with these stats.I appreciate you sharing your info.
@hailtopitt1787, if you request mid-year grade and the school follows quarter system, can we send grades after first quarter?
@Sgmom17, It would be best to call our office to discuss your questions about any requests we send you for more information. We can take a look at your specific account and assist you: 412-624-7488.

@hailtopitt1787 Are we required to complete all 3 short answer questions to be considered for the GAP’s and Chancellor’s Scholarship?
@MiCh408, You are not required to answer all three questions. You must answer at least one for scholarship consideration. Hope that helps clarify!

@hailtopitt1787 The website states as follows:
In recent years, scholarship eligible students possessed ALL of the following:
Minimum SAT score of 1480 or ACT composite score of 33
Overall ‘A’ average
Challenging high school curriculums consisting of AP/IB/Honors courses
Top 5% class rank (if applicable)
Does this indicate that if my son (admitted GAP Pharmacy) has a ACT 32 (strong elsewhere), then forget about any academic scholarship?
Thank You
@CRVKids, Our review is holistic and these are not hard thresholds/guidelines, so a 32 ACT does not automatically disqualify a candidate. That said, our scholarships are quite competitive - students who have received scholarships in the past did meet the description you copied and pasted here. Hope that helps clarify!

@hailtopitt1787 , do the three short answers play any influencing role in gaining medicine GAP program interviews or they solely for merit scholarship purposes?
Thank you
Here is some information about admission to School of Computing and Information.
You don’t start there as a freshman. You do pre-IS or pre-CS and then transfer internally.
Did you select pre-information science on your application? You might want to call the office of admission and talk to them.
I applied to the nursing school on 8/2,(I fell in love with the university and Pittsburgh itself after I visited), but I have not heard anything from admissions regarding the decision yet. I took the August SAT and the College Board website says that Pittsburgh revived my scores on 9/15. I was just wondering how long the decision process takes, and if decisions notifications are sent through email or by regular mail.
@bsms2018, Yes! Your responses to the Short Answer Questions may increase the likelihood that you are considered for our guaranteed admissions programs.
